For a boy. Cute or crazy or both? Obviously this is just aimed towards those who already loves unusual names.

My DD already has a very unusual name so don't need any negativity about them in general, just wondering if this is that step too far? I preferred Fox but cant use it so was thinking of alternatives :) x

I'm not really a fan but it's quite cool for a little boy not so much for an adult, what about Wilder as a name? Similar to Wolf and a little more suitable for an adult but at the end of the day, your choice, if you really like it, than go for it

DS has a Wolfgang / Wolfie in his preschool class last year. His family were not German or Austrian, just hipsters. I did rather like it though, he was a pretty cool kid.

I would worry about having a very timid little indoorsy boy trying to pull of Wolf! Love it as a nickname, like the previous suggestion of Wilder..could also use Wilf but call him by Wolf.

I have a friend called Dragana serbian and one of her friend's is called Vlad. I loves saying their names!

God no. Even on its own it's poncey. 'Wolfgang' would be even worse. I do know a Wolfram but he's a 65 year old German professor.

OK. Imagine you are 10. You haven't had your growth spurt yet. You are small, thin, and nervous. On your first day at secondary school, you are asked to say your name aloud in class.

You will almost certainly not be bullied- I don't think people bullied for their names. But in the nicest group of 10 year in the world most of them will find it impossible not to smile at least. Do you really want that?

Unusual is absolutely fine. Unusual that has the potential to make your child's life even slightly more difficult than it needs to be- not so much.

Isn't Wolfric an old English name? I really like Wolfie, Wolfgang, and Wolfric. Wolf on it own is a bit meh.

I quite like it. I think its quite sweet and miles better than Bear x the first thing (and I know its a bit weird) that I think of is Wold from gladiators x if you like it go for it xx

My Grandson has Wolff as a second name (German heritage). His first name is also German. His Daddy is enormous and a bit scary until you get to know him, so hopefully he will be able to live up to his name when it grows up.

I don't think children get bullied because of a name.
DS (15) has a very unusual slightly name in his age group there are also boys called Buzz, Tray, Falcon, Emmet, Tigger...None of his age mates have ever raised so much as an eyebrow over his or anyone else's name. We don't live in a particularly hipster area it's just that very unusual names are not uncommon in kids these days.

There should be a full stop after name. Otherwise that whole post reads a bit oddly
