I know two. A two year old and a 50+ year old

I love it. Be aware though that the nickname for Gabriel is Gay. So potential bullying issue there.

I had two in my year at school. One girl and one boy. Neither were bullied for it afaik.
Actually sounds really nice on a girl.

I thought the most common nickname for Gabriel is Gabe rather than Gay.

In the states it is. But here in Ireland where it's a pretty common name amongst my father's generation, it's universally Gay.

Still not sure it'd put me off, it's a beautiful name!

I think its a lovely name didn't hurt that the one I knew was a lovely guy and a total silver fox

I know just one, a woman in her 70s. She's a gorgeous, vivacious person, and I think her name is perfect for her.

My first baby that I lost has a half brother named Gabriel on her dad side. I don't know him. Only know of him.
Beautiful name. Are you considering it. I'd use it but I can't for obvious reasons. I'd say judging from the number of threads on here asking opinions on the name it is rising in popularity. I think it's number 78 in the baby names so its in the top 100.

My 11 year old DN is a Gabriel, known as Gabe. I work in a primary school with 750 pupils, we don't have a single Gabriel.

Not anymore. I know two little Irish Gabriels. One is Gabe and the other is just Gabriel.

I love it! We want to call our baby boy this. Our surname is Lockhart. I was a bit devastated when I starting watching the series The Affair, does anyone here watch it? Do you think that it's a problem? We have considered Gabriel Lockhart-Brooke but I think it's OTT.

Gabriel Lockhart is gorgeous. It sounds like a handsome heroic prince from a story book. If I'm honest though I'm not mad on the Brooke part

Gabriel Lockhart is a swoonsome name.

Is The Affair very popular? Or is it likely to disappear without trace once it finishes?

I have a Gabriel :) He gets Gabe a lot. Or baby Gaby because he's only five months old! We hear many quips about him being no angel though!

Off the top of my head, I can think of 5 under 18s called Gabriel that I know.

Three, aged 4, 17 and 48 (small boy, big boy, adult woman in that order).

All known as Gabriel in full.

Middle one did suffer some teasing but he is also a talented dancer so it could have been that rather than the name.
