Atlas...Patrick...Wolfgang?! <tremble>

I've name changed, because I can get too easily worked up on Baby Names when they are close to my heart. Blush Need to be calm, need to be calm.

Considering for an imminent ds:

Atlas
Patrick
Benedict
Reuben
Wolfgang (dp's choice...)

I particularly love Atlas, but am conscious of the general ribbing it might get...

Do you come to the Baby Names board often, Cactus?

I would agree that Horatio is quite batshit

Atlas is a fab name, but Patrick is safer and still nice.

Go for Atlas Patrick!

doceodocere · 13/11/2015 11:31

I gave up on Reuben despite liking it for years. Dh has a bad association with it and now there are hundreds everywhere you go. The spelling Ruben upsets me and has become distressingly popular.

Horatio might be a bit much, but how about Horace?

Also possibly a bit much(according to my H) but I love them ; Ignatius, Emmanuel, Wenzel, Orlando

MitzyLeFrouf · 13/11/2015 11:36

Horace! Shock

That's surely a pretty high ranker in the top 10 of Worst Names You Could Give Your Son.

CoralieConfused · 13/11/2015 11:36

Horace Broon! Grin

I like Ignatius, thank you. More outsiders include Guy, Jonah, Linus (dp hates, oh well...) and Dominic. But narrowing down is what I need to be doing.

Wenzel?!

CoralieConfused · 13/11/2015 11:39

I just had to get a shrug reference in on an Atlas thread.

So I'm not helping much, sorry! Jupiter?

CoralieConfused · 13/11/2015 14:15

No no, I'm not helping myself! Love that sly Jupiter suggestion...

Doesn't Wolfric manage to combine a bit of Wolfgang and a bit of Patrick quite nicely? Moves things away from Mozart and Postman Pat? Then have Reuben as a mn (also gives you the 'ben' of Benedict without the Cumberbatch association). Sorted.

doceodocere · 13/11/2015 15:55

I think you should go with Atlas, since it's really your favourite.

And since you seem to have survived this experience I am going to pluck up the courage to start a thread about my own shortlist. ??

MadameJosephine · 13/11/2015 16:04

I quite like Atlas, it's grown on me as I've read through the thread and you obviously love it so why not?

If not though, how about Carmine? I love it but sadly am too old not having any more dc so I have to live vicariously through the baby names thread Grin

TonyMaguire · 13/11/2015 16:04

I you love Atlas you should do it. Patrick is very very dull.

AgentCooper · 13/11/2015 16:10

We had a German student at the uni where I work called Wolfgang Patrick (second name).

I love Patrick.

CoralieConfused · 13/11/2015 16:20

doceodocere do it! I look forward to contributing Grin

Little Atlas should be very good at Geography.
As for Wolfgang, I've recently spoken to my german friend who said "Can you imagine that my father's name is Wolfgang? Ha-ha-ha, it is so horriblle!"
