I've name changed, because I can get too easily worked up on Baby Names when they are close to my heart. Blush Need to be calm, need to be calm.

Considering for an imminent ds:

Atlas
Patrick
Benedict
Reuben
Wolfgang (dp's choice...)

I particularly love Atlas, but am conscious of the general ribbing it might get...

Basically, I want Atlas Sad

Atlas is great! Would love to hear of a baby Atlas. I think Atlas David would be really nice.

CoralieConfused · 12/11/2015 16:37

Or...I want Patrick. Aaargh.

Sophronia, thank you! Ideally I would like Alistair as a middle name, but it doesn't really go with any of the choices - David is almost as good though.

Can I put Ignacio out there for you.

Adorable name... He can be a wee Iggy

JakeyBurd · 13/11/2015 00:57

Love Wolfgang -that's what I called my budgie when I was a teen. I'd go for Atlas though; it's fab!

autumnmoon · 13/11/2015 09:18

Patrick is lovely! (and much nicer than Atlas.... Atlas = book)

BoboChic · 13/11/2015 09:19

Reuben

autumnmoon · 13/11/2015 09:20

Atticus?

BikeRunSki · 13/11/2015 09:44

Love Patrick. Hugely underused.

Patrick.

JasperDamerel · 13/11/2015 10:04

I know a cute baby Wolfgang.

I really like Patrick Wolfgang as a name, but it has just occurred to me that this is possibly because I like the music of Patrick Wolf, so it might be a bit too close.

I agree that they are all good names but that Reuben is overus d and Benedict is currently associated a bit too much with Cumberbatch.

Wolfric is also very good. And I sort of wish that that I had called DS Constantine, so suggest it to everyone.

CoralieConfused · 13/11/2015 10:17

Oh, I rather like Constantine! And I have liked the name Reuben for years.

I think 'Atlas, come in for tea!' sounds fine Blush But am now swinging more towards Patrick - unfortunate that I can't stand Pat as a shortening though...

MitzyLeFrouf · 13/11/2015 10:25

'Oh STOP with Reuben! What is it with this name suddenly???'

Vocational the Commons passed a law in Sept 2014 that all newborn boys must be called either Teddy or Reuben.

BondJayneBond · 13/11/2015 10:30

I love Constantine. DH vetoed it Sad

If you can't stand Pat, then you should probably avoid Patrick.

What about Horatio? DP keeps banging on about it

I don't want to avoid Patrick - it feels like cherished names are slipping through my fingers now! Shock

OP posts:
CoralieConfused · 13/11/2015 10:42

I have honestly liked the name Reuben since I was little, it's so unfaaaair.

OP posts:
MadGhostlyGnome · 13/11/2015 10:43

Atlas is pretty cool. But I agree it would depend on the child, and adult. Can you imagine him introducing himself to someone at a bar with the name? That's my criteria for names Grin

Can you stand the nn Paddy for Patrick?

celtictoast · 13/11/2015 10:44

Not Atlas.

Patrick Benedict?

MyNewBearTotoro · 13/11/2015 10:44

DS is Reuben so maybe I am biased but I love it.

Also very much like Benedict. The others aren't to my taste, sorry.

CoralieConfused · 13/11/2015 10:51

Paddy is fine, but it's the full name Patrick that I love. I suppose Pat would be ok...it just makes me think of Postman Pat and his massive nose.

I can imagine Atlas introducing himself at a bar, yes Grin
