Heard today:-

Spring-rose

At the doctors the other day was deliah-rose. Thought it was a misspell for Delilah but then maybe it's Delia?

And the when I worked in a nursery there was a little boy called deneil. Not too bad you say, till you knew his older brother was called Neil Hmm

Loula117 · 06/11/2015 17:01

ElderlyKoreanLady - well it was my first thought so I guess so. Even Amber-Lynne would have been better! (I didn't meet her mum just her childminder and it was generally shortened to Bo)

Loula117 · 06/11/2015 17:03

She was a sweet little girl so it was unfortunate we always thought of head chopping!

TheLuckDragon · 06/11/2015 17:03

I heard a mother calling for Kaos (chaos) the other day. And also heard of an Usher!

Tournesol · 06/11/2015 17:04

My sister used to babysit for siblings Puffin (girl) and Galen (boy).

I went to school with Mary-Lane, I always thought she must have spent her life explaining it was not a typo.

GladysTheGolem · 06/11/2015 17:04

Wurzel, and then I heard another one the same week!

I know a Queenie & a King (not related).

Cheesymonster · 06/11/2015 17:10

Shock Fartemis are you my friend?!

MildVirago · 06/11/2015 17:11

Skeff is usually a more user-friendly short form of Skeffington - a surname occasionally used as a first name. I know someone who has it as a middle name because it's a family name - a terribly well-born guy. Come to think of it, he has a brother called Arcturus. Known as Art.

I know a female Biff, but as with one of the Muffs up the thread Grin, it's based on her own childhood mispronunciation of her actual name.

FurryDogMother · 06/11/2015 17:11

Somerset, for a girl :)

mrssmith79 · 06/11/2015 17:11

Was the Anamoli possibly an Anatoly (which is a Ukrainian name)?.... And the name of one of my DT's

Helenluvsrob · 06/11/2015 17:21

I'm liking this thread as its mot yet become the urban myth thing it usually does when unusual names are mentioned.

Lots of fab names. Love Zeus and Boudicca ! Looked at a headstone of a lady called hephzibah so often when seeking inspiration for the eldest.

The most out there I can share that I know of is the lovely Cheyenne higginbottom that my dad taught in a mining village in the 60s. Too many Saturday afternoon westerns I think !

One of my dds has thirza as a middle name after my fab godmother auntie. You don't get many of them about and yet it's not made up :)

FedUpWithJudgementalPeople · 06/11/2015 17:23

SerenityReynolds · 06/11/2015 17:35

I had a patient called Ocean once. She must have been in her 70's.

WheresMyBurrito · 06/11/2015 17:35

There was a Pebbles at my primary school. Her brother was called something like Dave or Steve or something else super normal.

EsmesBees · 06/11/2015 17:43

I went to primary school with a Crystal Walters. At the time I thought it was the most beautiful name ever...
