Due date is next week. Imogen has been top choice for the last few months but I'm wondering about Poppy now. Would welcome your thoughts. Thanks x

I think Imogen would have more longevity.

Mclaren37 · 10/10/2015 07:40

Tricky as both great names but with quite a different feel to each. For me Imogen slightly wins over Poppy, just because it's ever so slightly more classic, while Poppy is more 'cute' and I know quite a lot of toddlers called Poppy. So I vote Imogen.

austenozzy · 10/10/2015 07:45

Why not wait until you meet her and see which one fits?

pilates · 10/10/2015 07:46

Imogen

Nowthereistwo · 10/10/2015 07:47

Imogen for me

Your an adult for a lot longer than baby/child so I think a name needs to follow that.

momb · 10/10/2015 07:48

Poppy is more popular (I know several Poppys but no little Imogens), so I'd go with Imogen. Both lovely though.

WanderingTrolley1 · 10/10/2015 07:49

Poppy is beautiful.

SanityClause · 10/10/2015 07:51

Imogen.

I don't really like Poppy at all. It's a bit cutesie.

SlinkyB · 10/10/2015 07:52

I agree; wait until she's here and see which one fits her. Good luck!

orlakielyimnot · 10/10/2015 07:54

I think Imogen travels better into adulthood. Imogen can do anything. Poppy is unlikely to be prime minister.

SevenSeconds · 10/10/2015 07:55

Poppy. It was my grandmother's name, so I disagree that Imogen is more classic / has more longevity.

slightlyconfused85 · 10/10/2015 07:57

'Poppy is unlikely to be prime minister'. I hate comments like this, they are ridiculous. There are lots of Poppy's, Lily's, Kitty's about these days - it will be the norm in 25 years or so and of course they will be accessing top jobs. Not a good reason to avoid a name at all.

Another vote for Imogen.

NotMeNotYouNotAnyone · 10/10/2015 14:21

I've loved Poppy for years but now I know quite a few so Imogen has crept ahead for me (I know a toddler and teen Imogen)

celtictoast · 10/10/2015 14:59

Poppy

MrsBungle · 10/10/2015 15:00

Imogen.

Indole · 10/10/2015 15:04

Imogen.

MarvinKMooney · 10/10/2015 15:05

Imogen here too. Am a bit biased because it is my 3yo dd's name! Don't know of any other imogens, but there are several poppys round our way.
