What do you think?

Classic and pretty or just terribly old fashioned?

OP posts:

tethersend · 20/09/2015 16:33

Love it. Was my second choice for DD2.

Vixxfacee · 20/09/2015 16:34

Really horrible.

MaliaGrace · 20/09/2015 16:34

Really don't like it.

anothernumberone · 20/09/2015 16:35

Nope sorry.

HumpheadWrasse · 20/09/2015 16:36

Love it.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 20/09/2015 16:36

I like it a lot.

Backforthis · 20/09/2015 16:36

I prefer Marianne.

PacificDogwod · 20/09/2015 16:37

I love it Smile

DramaAlpaca · 20/09/2015 16:37

I also prefer Marianne, and I like the spelling Marian better than Marion.

Lunastarfish · 20/09/2015 16:40

I prefer Marianne. Marion imo is old fashioned but given Sylvia and Daphne receive positive comments on Mn I expect on balance the comments you receive here will be positive

vestandknickers · 20/09/2015 16:46

Please don't!

NadiaWadia · 20/09/2015 19:33

Nothing wrong with it. Not fashionable at the moment, but who cares. It could be quite chic at the moment I suppose, due to French film star, Marion Cotillard.

Have to say I think I prefer Marian though. And Marianne is gorgeous of course.

BettyBi0 · 20/09/2015 19:34

I think it would get misspelled all the time

BathtimeFunkster · 20/09/2015 19:34

Love it.

Gorgeous name.

Happily not fashionable, but I think it will be within a few years.

SmugairleRoin · 20/09/2015 20:11

Pretty - a bit old fashioned but then, old fashioned names are in.
Maren/Marin is quite similar?

I do prefer Marian though.

mydogeatsnutstoo · 20/09/2015 20:12

Awful - Marianne is lovely though!

ashesandfire · 20/09/2015 22:12

It's my MILs name so I've sometimes thought it might end up as mn for a future dd.
I think if that were the case I'd insist on altering it to Marianne though, which I just think is so pretty and more modern then Marion, which sounds a little harsh/abrupt IMO. I think Marian is nicer too.

elQuintoConyo · 20/09/2015 22:16

Love it.

Hate Marian/Marianne.

Marion Cunningham was in Happy Days Grin

Hadron21 · 20/09/2015 22:17

I like it but it's a new Thomas the Tank Engine character.

Wearyheadedlady · 21/09/2015 02:01

I like it. My best friend's mum was called it, but then so is one of SJP's twins.

RockinHippy · 21/09/2015 02:05

I read your title as Marlon for a boy - I was going to say - love it!

But Marion, - no, hideous - sorry

Heads off to spec savers Blush

DandyDan · 21/09/2015 10:13

Lovely lovely name, spelled Marion or Marian.

Marianne has the emphasis on the "-anne" bit, rather than the "Ma-", and feels a different name.

chootalkinboutWillis · 21/09/2015 10:17

Lovely

mrsschu · 22/09/2015 21:28

It's very grumpy... Quite like Marianne though!

mrsschu · 22/09/2015 21:30

Sigh, it's frumpy not grumpy. Time for bed...
