A bit. One or the other - not both.

noblegiraffe · 19/09/2015 19:28

Leonardo is fine, Socrates is just weird.

nagsandovalballs · 19/09/2015 19:29

Rule is normally one long, one short in terms of names.

wankerchief · 19/09/2015 19:32

Socrates is just a bit.... well, wanky

PotteringAlong · 19/09/2015 19:33

No no no. Please don't call your baby Leonardo Socrates.

blibblobblub · 19/09/2015 19:34

This is a joke thread right? Hmm

Figgygal · 19/09/2015 19:36

TRY TOO HARD!!!

tattyteddy · 19/09/2015 19:36

Socrates is a ridiculous name, Leonardo aside.

Is there a family association?

Sgtmajormummy · 19/09/2015 20:02

Not expecting much from this baby, then?

ItchyArmpit · 19/09/2015 20:03

Name him after any of the Apostles (except Thaddeus and Judas, obvs)

johnImonlydancing · 19/09/2015 20:11

One or the other - not both.- this.
Leonardo is quite nice. Socrates just sounds Greek, which is fine if you're Greek.

Piratespoo · 19/09/2015 20:33

Sounds like a boy in ds reception class. My ds said this boy is called Alex doctor. So I referred to him as Alex and ds said, no, alex doctor. Ds speech is not that clear and finally figured out when I saw his coat peg this kid is called Aristotle!!!!

BettyTurpinsHotpot · 19/09/2015 20:37

Sounds like a Brazilian footballer.

BlueChampagne · 19/09/2015 22:37

Socrates is fine if you have Greek heritage. Otherwise could need some explaining. Great names with appropriate background.

chairmeoh · 19/09/2015 22:58

Ummmm. Sounds a bit OTT to me. I hope the child's surname is something suitably memorable and not Williams, Brown, Davies etc.

WhataRacquet · 19/09/2015 23:09

Leonardo Homer

bolleauxnouveau · 19/09/2015 23:11

If you're in the UK I hope your son goes to a naice school or grows very large very quickly, but Leo/Leonardo is a great name, he doesn't have to tell anyone his middle name.

VaviaVive · 19/09/2015 23:14

Oh my god

SmugairleRoin · 20/09/2015 01:45

Dear fucking Lord.

Socrates is ridiculously try hard, please don't saddle the child with it.

Leonardo is a strange choice if you aren't Italian or a mutant turtle, imo. Leo or Leon possibly?

mathanxiety · 20/09/2015 03:57
