Breckin?

Struggling to find a name for DS2, saw this today and really liked it. It seems to go nicely with DS1's slightly unusual name and I think Breck is a cute NN.

Can't see any particular negatives although I'm aware it won't be to everyone's tastes! Grin

The only other I'm aware of is actor Breckin Meyer.

Just musing before putting it on the official 'list'.

Where I come from there'd be a 'bad' added to that before you'd got him out the hospital!

Fluffy24 · 09/08/2015 22:31

And not if your surname sounds anything like beacon Hmm

SmugairleRoin · 09/08/2015 22:32

Sounds like Bracken....if he was in my class I'd be accidentally calling him Bracken all the time! Blush

I don't have strong feelings on the name one way or another op. Tis grand.

Allstoppedup · 09/08/2015 22:33

Hmm, I guess there is that association- DP and I seem to be the only people in the world that thought it rubbish and gave up on it so didn't think of that!

I'd doubt as a pop culture reference it will last long enough to make a significant impact on DS2s life though. I could be wrong and he might forever curse us or it could be a guarantee he'd stay away from the Meth lab!Grin

It sounds like "break in" as in break into someone's house... It's awful IMO.

chocolatedonut · 09/08/2015 22:58

Stupid

therealsquireofwideacre · 09/08/2015 23:00

I love it! Strong and different without being too "out there".

Mummify · 09/08/2015 23:02

I like most names, especially unique ones: this is lovely. I do agree with fluffy though - that was my first thought too.

chickydoo · 09/08/2015 23:03

What?? Never heard of it. Sheltered life.

thenightsky · 09/08/2015 23:04

Saw thread title and immediately thought... Breakin-Bad.

GreenbackBoogie · 09/08/2015 23:08

His nicknames at school will be burglary/bad/shattered/thief/rocks/glass/trespass etc. Absolutely awful IMO.

LondonRocks · 09/08/2015 23:08

Breaking Bad
Break In
Brecon

Hmm.

Missdee2014 · 09/08/2015 23:08

Awful. Sorry but it sounds made up and definitely not a name.

MissBattleaxe · 09/08/2015 23:09

Nope. It sounds daft

Enchufla · 09/08/2015 23:11

Its over the top awful

CrystalMcPistol · 09/08/2015 23:13

The skater dude from Clueless is a Breckin I think. It sounds like an American's idea of a fancy English name.

AltoPalo · 09/08/2015 23:27

Brickin' it
Break in

Awful

foxmitten · 09/08/2015 23:31

Instantly thought of Breckin Meyer, I fucking love him. Not overly keen on the name though I like the "feel" of it iyswim.

urbinosparrot · 09/08/2015 23:38

Breckin wind?

You'd be setting the poor child up for a lifetime of teasing. Don't do it.

BlinkingHeck · 09/08/2015 23:41

Yorkshire slang for breaking.
e.g 'you will end up breckin your ankle if you go out in them shoes'

melonribena · 09/08/2015 23:41

Breckin Meyer!

It's a mis spelled version of Brecon for me. I don't like it at all sorry.

CrystalMcPistol · 09/08/2015 23:47

Breckin wind?

UrethraFranklin1 · 09/08/2015 23:55
