As title says.

Not particularly looking for opinions on likeability, but what comes to mind if you hear the name Tobias?

And do you read/pronounce it TOW-BEE-AS or TO-BIAS?

Thanks :)

My DP's annoying colleague, he pronounces it to-bee-as, but I think it's usually toe-bias. I don't like it.

Toe-bye-ass

I've watched arrested development but it didn't spring to mind. It doesn't really conjure anything in my mind.

Toby from the west wing, anyone? We liked this name but unfortunately had already used it for a hamster. It will surely always be shortened to Toby, which is also a nice name.

Never heard anyone pronounce it as Toe-bee-us, I mean not in the UK anyway. English pronunciation is Toe-bye-us

Doesn't conjure up anything much. Just a normal nice name.

I have a Tobias. We pronounce it Toe-bye-us. Although, to be completely honest, we usually pronounce it Toe-bee :)

I love the name. Obviously.

DS's best mate. Kooky, funny, sweet. Never gets the full To-bye-us unless he's in trouble!

I think of my mate who is call Tobias (Toe-BYE-ass). He's lovely, great fun and the campest man I ever met. Everyone does tend to shorten it to just 'Tobes' though.

I like it. But it's my cat's name.

A jar of homemade Seville marmalade with a gingham top is what I think of. (Tubby and homely, I suppose.)

Tow-bye-as

And definitely Tobias/Four from Divergent! (Book rather than film version for me, though)

Tow-bye-as

I think of a lovely blonde boy I know with the name (although he is known as Toby or Tobes unless in trouble!)
