Is Emma a bit "meh"

MrsSnow1 · 21/07/2015 19:55

DD1 due September. Already have 3 year old Henry.

I've always loved Emma. DH likes it also but thinks it is a bit bland. He really likes Bryony and Lana. I like them both also but really really love Emma. Is he right? Is it bland?

Thank you in advance :)

No! It's lovely.

WishUponAStar88 · 21/07/2015 19:57

I like it and much prefer it to Bryony or Lana. Classic name but not used much anymore unlike Emily.

Kbear · 21/07/2015 19:58

Love the name - I have an Emma - classic, never dates and only one Emma in her year group of 360

ArseForElbow · 21/07/2015 19:59

I like Emma, always have, I also think Lana is nice.

Gunpowder · 21/07/2015 19:59

I love it too.

HiawathaDidntBotherTooMuch · 21/07/2015 20:02

No, it's lovely. Ds2 would have been an Emma if he had been a girl.

BromleyGal · 21/07/2015 20:03

Emma is a beautiful and timeless name.

TheRealMaryMillington · 21/07/2015 20:04

No it is beautiful, elegant, timeless take-you-anywhere kind of name.

Lana I like too with its seedy glam 40s filmstar overtones

Bryony is too try-hard and wafty for my taste. Although the only Bryony I ever knew was hard as nails.

dementedpixie · 21/07/2015 20:04

I have an Emma too so I love it as well

MistressMerryWeather · 21/07/2015 20:04

Emma is thee best name in the whole spanking world!

Meh indeed!

MrsSnow1 · 21/07/2015 20:07

Noooo it's not "meh" at all Shock
It's classic and beautiful not that I'm at all biased

dontthinktwiceitsalright · 21/07/2015 20:26

It's a nice name but I think Lana is nicer

ConcreteElephant · 21/07/2015 20:36

It is not 'meh'! It is lovely.

biased

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 21/07/2015 20:38

I like it. It was on our list. (Along with Amy, Sarah, Katherine and at least one other I have now forgotten.)

GeraldineFangedVagine · 21/07/2015 20:41

I am both elegant and timeless and not really called Geraldine FYI.

LondonRocks · 21/07/2015 20:43

It's ok, but Lana is nicer.

Sophronia · 21/07/2015 21:04

It's lovely and not so popular anymore. It goes very well with Henry, and is much better than Bryony or Lana.

Junosmum · 21/07/2015 21:08

It was the most popular name in the US last year.

BeautifulBatman · 21/07/2015 21:10

It's beautiful, timeless.

FennyBridges · 21/07/2015 21:11

It's a lovely name :-)

FlysInDreams · 21/07/2015 21:13

DTD1's name, so definitely NOT meh! Grin

MamaMotherMummy · 21/07/2015 21:17

Never met an Emma I've liked. Emmaline I really like though.

SueBigFatSue · 21/07/2015 21:20

It's a classic. Not heard of any young Emma's recently so she shouldn't be one of 10 Emma's in a class Grin

fanciesdefrancais · 21/07/2015 21:24

Best of the bunch, I'd say. Goes v nicely with Henry. Lovely.
