So, if you had to, what region would you choose to name your child, and would it be boy or a girl

Viking
North Utsire
South Utsire
Forties
Cromarty
Forth
Tyne
Dogger
Fisher
German Bight
Humber
Thames
Dover
Wight
Portland
Plymouth
Biscay
Trafalgar
FitzRoy
Sole
Lundy
Fastnet
Irish Sea
Shannon
Rockall
Malin
Hebrides
Bailey
Fair Isle
Faeroes
Southeast Iceland

I'd go for... Malin for a girl and Cromarty for a Boy Grin

following the traditions of the Beckhams in naming their child after where it was conceived I'd have to go for Dogger Wink

What the hell happened to Finisterre? That was always my favourite!

it's the bloomin' Spanish to blame! Firs they steal our fish, then they stole our forecast regions!!! Wink

Think Ardnamurchan would be a boy. Utsire for a girl, but both would get fed up of misspelling and mispronunciation.

Royal Sovereign might tempt some.

After hearing Lisa Knapp's Shipping Song, I have been strangely drawn to the name Utsire.

But maybe just for the next cat.

Love this thread.

I'd have Finisterre for a boy, DP would have Trafalgar. I think for a girl I'd pick Lundy....

I love Crosby and Macrahanish for a boy too - I suspect they will not make our shortlist though.
