Grr.. That really.
Ds1 is due today and after 9 months of stewing over a name for him ( feel like all the ones I love are spoken for by friends and family's kids) my brother in law has just named his puppy Ted. I could cry. Especially as he named his son Rex which to me is a better dog name..
We had decided a few days ago on Ted Sidney E... But feel that we can't use it now.
Any other Ted-like names we might like? Middle name is Sidney and surname begins with an E.

Go for it, gal.

But, er, I thought jrts were nasty, snappy, nippy. I swore no terrier, no puppy, esp no JRT. Then I was overruled.

We have a loving, sloppy, entrancing adoring pampered pooch. If one of us is depressed or ill he comes to cheer us up. He just want to join us in everything and chase foxes.

He might be your ds' best friend, for ever.

Jack Russells really do live forever! When your Ted is an old man about to move into his plush suite in Shady Pines retirement home canine Ted will still be hobbling around.

FraggleHair · 06/07/2015 23:18

But what an arsey thing for you BIL to do! I wouldn't be able to stop myself from having a word with him if I was you. Do he and your husband have one of those jealous/competitive brother relationships?

Daffodil1210 · 06/07/2015 23:32

Oh god this thread has made me giggle (and nearly woken sleeping 6 week old up in process), regarding the "Tid" comment and the getting a dog and naming it after BIL...

Agree that your BIL sounds like a right arse though... I'd be so miffed...

Can see what Craic means. He'll be Ted E. At school. They'll write "Bear" on his nametag. Children can be cruel.

'Ted' born at 4am! After all that bloody drama we decided to call him Luca! Dh suggested it when we saw him, actually love it now there's a baby to associate with the name. 6lbs 4 with lots of blonde hair :)

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 07/07/2015 08:11

Oh that's wonderful, congratulations! Flowers Brew

downgraded · 07/07/2015 08:14

Ned?

I would just use Ted to be honest. With DS due any day it'll look like he copied you anyway. A child trumps a dog any day of the week.

Definitely get a pet and name it Steven. Get a cockroach or a skunk :)

downgraded · 07/07/2015 08:15

Oh sorry, I missed that there was more than one page!!

Congrats Flowers

WaltJunior · 07/07/2015 08:18

Still go for Ted, it's a dog it really does not matter they have the same names

Bellebella · 07/07/2015 09:13

Just saw your new post.

Congrats on baby Luca!

MummySparkle · 07/07/2015 09:24

Our DS has the same name as OH's aunts dog.

We both liked the name early on in the pregnancy, but discounted it because of the dog. We couldn't decide on a name in hospital, and it was in the car on the way home that we both realised he looked liked that name, so we said sod the dog!!

Coincidentally, one of my colleagues has the same birthday as me, and 2 children - one the same name as our DS, and the other the same name as AIL's other dog!!

MummySparkle · 07/07/2015 09:25

Ahhhhhh, just seen your update. Congratulations! And welcome to the world baby Luca. Hope you're all doing well Flowers
