I am 33 weeks pregnant expecting a boy....me and my husband love the name Rudy....just wanted feedback on what people think as we haven't told friends and family and its not the sort of name you hear often....although that's what I love about it! ???? xxx

Honestly ? (you asked...) I don't like it.

I can't really give you a persuasive argument though - it's just not at all to my taste.

I do suspect other dc would highlight the 'rude' bit of the name, but I think it's more than that, that I don't like it for.

shellbell1980 · 22/06/2015 01:01

No it's fine, it's your true option I was after!...it was the "rude" that I was worried people would connect with the name :(

Don't like it, sorry. Can't get past Rudy Judy

FadedRed · 22/06/2015 01:08

Sorry, I think it will become embarrassing as Ds grows up, either because of the 'rude' connection or supposition it is a shortened form of Rudolf of the red nose fame.

shellbell1980 · 22/06/2015 01:10

Feeling torn now!....getting slightly put off the name ha ha!!...thank you for your opinions! X

It's a very 'in' name I like it

HelenF350 · 22/06/2015 01:26

I like it.

SweetSorrow · 22/06/2015 01:27

I like it. It's not my style but I wouldn't think anything bad if I heard of a child with that name.

I love it. I know someone who called their baby Rudy many years ago, I can't remember anything but compliments about it.

Very cute!
Makes me think of the Specials song, A Message to You Rudy, which is a great song.

scaevola · 22/06/2015 05:40

Sorry, don't like it.

It's not a great name in some cities because of the gangsta/slang associations. It's somewhat worse than 'cheeky chappie'

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 22/06/2015 06:06

I like but it's quite nicknamey

AwfulBeryl · 22/06/2015 06:15

I love it it.

cedricsneer · 22/06/2015 06:19

2 Rudy's in ds1 class. Neither gets remotely teased (9 yr olds)

favouritewasteoftime · 22/06/2015 06:31

It's a lovely name!

elianmod · 22/06/2015 06:32

Rudy reminds me of a character from a childrens show I watched when I was a kid, I think maybe a pig but also maybe a monster? Either way I doubt any children that will be your son's age will have watched it. Rudy is a nice name I'm not to keen, but I like it. I think it will definitely grow on people, it already has started to work on me!

boardblonde · 22/06/2015 06:57
