Oscar Wilde! Human (and dog)

But the same can be said for Sadie, Susie, Lucy

PinkPearlClutcher · 02/06/2015 20:59

Human!

iliketeaalot · 02/06/2015 21:03

My friend's ds is called Oscar - he's just turned two...... But we had a dog called Oscar so for me, it's still a dog's name!

sweetpeame · 02/06/2015 22:21

Literally been having this conversation just now with DH!!! It was top of my boys list in 2011 but we had a girl. Due a boy next week and had decided against it this time due to popularity and the fact my cousin had a dog when we were growing up called Oscar. But at the last minute I'm reconsidering it!!!! I'm not too worried about the dog association, it's more the popularity which I was set on avoiding...

Human

ApplesTheHare · 02/06/2015 22:33

Dog

ShadowFire · 02/06/2015 22:36

I know several small human boy Oscar's. Plus 1 cat.

reuset · 02/06/2015 22:44

By all accounts popular for both.

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/06/2015 22:46

Either/or. Sorry, not helpful! Blush

MrsHathaway · 02/06/2015 22:46

There's loads. Two in a class. As popular as Finlay / Finley.

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/06/2015 23:30

Human.

But the current trend for pets names is human sounding names so many names could be either, really.

Milly, Penny, Alfie, Toby and Molly...are they the names of children I know or the names of family pets?

My husband and I have had to think long and hard about names for our baby to avoid "three dogs or three daughters?" confusion Grin

Ludways · 02/06/2015 23:32

Human.

I know 4.

theroundball · 02/06/2015 23:36

Human.

I know one who's 3 and one who's 33. There's also Oscar the footballer who I believe, is 23. What is it with all these threes!

Butterflywings168 · 02/06/2015 23:45

My first thought was pet - specifically, cat. Then Oscar Wilde of but not a modern human...it's in now though? Confused you learn something every day.

CakeRattleandRoll · 03/06/2015 01:24

Human (or grouchy muppet)
But it's popular - England and Wales ranked 17th in 2012 and 7th in 2013, so on the rise too.

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 03/06/2015 02:29

Either

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 03/06/2015 02:33

Either. I like it.

2boys2girls · 03/06/2015 02:41

Cat or human ... Lots of both running about

BeautifulStars93 · 03/06/2015 05:17

I know a cat Oscar, and a couple of humans.

prepperpig · 03/06/2015 07:35

There are two in each of DS1 and DS2's year groups plus there are three siblings called Oscar/Oskar. We also have one in extended family. Its very popular.
