My husband thinks I'm being ridiculous but I am reluctant to use the names we like with these initials because of Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease.

NeighBores · 23/04/2015 11:43

Yes. Sorry.

Heels99 · 23/04/2015 11:47

Yes unfortunately

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 23/04/2015 12:00

I do but my ex friend has a son with these initials and no one has ever mentioned it. Nor as far as I'm aware did it bring him any problems at school.
Not a risk. I'd take though

Orangeisthenewbanana · 23/04/2015 12:01

Yes, sorry

MarvellousMarbles · 23/04/2015 12:02

I'd be more likely to think of CJ from West Wing.

Pipbin · 23/04/2015 12:04

I do, but I think it's a generational thing. I expect younger people haven't even heard of it.

Only1scoop · 23/04/2015 12:06

Yes Hmm

chockbic · 23/04/2015 12:07

I like CZD.

karmagetsyou · 23/04/2015 12:13

No Grin

murphys · 23/04/2015 12:16

No. Not at all.

SoupDragon · 23/04/2015 12:17

I do, yes.

SoupDragon · 23/04/2015 12:17

Adding an extra name in would put a stop to that though.

LemonYellowSun · 23/04/2015 12:18

Young people wouldnt know, but it will be more an issue when the child is older I would think.

Plonkysaurus · 23/04/2015 12:18

They were my initials before marriage. I was born in 1986 and the only people who ever spotted it were immediate family. At the time of the outbreak it was mentioned to me but it's irrelevant now.

Don't worry about it.

HomeIsWhereTheHeartIs · 23/04/2015 12:18

Yes, anyone associated with health or the medical profession will certainly think of it.

Paddingtonthebear · 23/04/2015 12:21

Do initials matter? I'm 39 and I don't remember my initials being particularly relevant in my life Confused

sweetpeame · 23/04/2015 12:31

Yes it makes me think of mad cow disease but as he will very likely never use all three initials I don't think it matters. I've rarely ever used two initials and certainly never three.

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 23/04/2015 12:59

I think Cara Delvigne (sp??) is CJD

squoosh · 23/04/2015 14:21

Yes but initials don't really matter unless you are lucky enough to afford to fret over monogrammed Louis Vuitton luggage. Wink

Nerris · 23/04/2015 14:28

Yes, sorry.

IvoryMadonna · 23/04/2015 14:36

No, it won't matter. It would if it was something like TIT or CRAP, but no, I can't see this causing any problems.

JaWellNoFine · 23/04/2015 14:37

Yes. Confused

bethatasitmay · 23/04/2015 14:39

I think initials don't really matter, as long as you like the name. But then again, my DD's initials are EW, so it might not be best to take my advice. Wink

timelyreminder · 23/04/2015 15:07

Yes, sorry.

HeyheyheyGoodbye · 23/04/2015 15:09

Yes. Sorry.
