I quite like Tate.

squoosh · 22/04/2015 22:50

I actually love the name Lyle too!

GatoradeMeBitch · 22/04/2015 23:01

Tate! Very cool name.

Jaden is just overused to saturation point, but if you like it then who cares.

Or what about something like Jake? You've got the Ja sound from one, and the length of the other?

DramaAlpaca · 22/04/2015 23:05

Of the two, Tate.

pieceofpurplesky · 22/04/2015 23:08

Elijah Tate, too many Jaden/Jay/Jake names!

Koalafications · 22/04/2015 23:10

Tate reminds me of Aiden from Sex and the city. He had a son called Tate.

I don't mind Jaden. Not entirely sure how a name can be 'chavvy' Hmm

Elijah is lovely.

squoosh · 22/04/2015 23:10

Elijah is very religious.

VixxFace · 22/04/2015 23:13

Love Tate.
Also like elijah. Have you thought of Isaiah?

GatoradeMeBitch · 22/04/2015 23:14

Names can be chavvy. Sad but true. I have a chavvy 70s name - and that was before chavishness even officially existed! Sad

QOD · 22/04/2015 23:16

Jayden is soooooo common place now. Tons of them
Tate

maplebaconchips · 22/04/2015 23:16

I like Tate, Jayden is also lovely. Sod those who are calling it "chavvy", its not their baby. I don't like Elijah, but then I tend to dislike the try hard mummy's who call their kids things like Caleb or Boadicea.

NadiaWadia · 23/04/2015 04:45

Elijah is much nicer OP.

wigglesrock · 23/04/2015 08:43

I always think of Jaden as a girls name but I think that might just be because my daughter goes to school with a few - it's alright, I don't really have any feelings about it, it's a bit meh - sort of like Claire, Amy, James, Paul, Simon - a bit non descript. I quite like Tate, I didn't think I did, but when I say it out loud it's growing on me.

Elijah - it's alright, I don't prefer it any more than Jaden - I think it's the j sound I'm not fussed on it - it's a bit wet.

SweetAndFullOfGrace · 23/04/2015 08:47

Tate is a gallery.
Jaden sounds too much like jaded.

I quite like Elijah though.

burgatroyd · 23/04/2015 09:09

Some people say my name is chavvy. Its a bit like Donna or Jade. I quite like it though!

burgatroyd · 23/04/2015 09:09

I'd still avoid Jaden though as its very popular.

deadwitchproject · 23/04/2015 09:13

Yes I thought of Tate = sugar and then Tate = gallery. I like your choice of Elijah.

Heels99 · 23/04/2015 09:15

Both girls names?

Elijah is the best of your options, least girly and least chavtastic

Viviennemary · 23/04/2015 09:19

I think they're both dire. Jaden is I suppose marginally less cringeworthy.

lionheart · 23/04/2015 09:56

I really like Tate.

QueQuesto · 23/04/2015 12:41

Tate is nice but it would only go with longer surnames, you couldn't have it with a single syllable one. Jayden is nice enough but there are so many Jayden/Cayden/Haydens around that it's become a bit meh.

anorakgirl · 23/04/2015 12:45

I like Tate but where I live the second T would be dropped so it wouldn't sound as good! Jaden is very popular here too so would deffo go with Elijah!

MythicalKings · 23/04/2015 12:46

Both beyond awful

SoftSheen · 23/04/2015 12:56

If you go with Jaden then I think it is better spelt 'Jadon', which (as you may know) is an old Hebrew name.

Unfortunately, however, whichever way you spell it Jaden/Jadon tends to me seen as a 'chav' name, much as Jason was 25 years ago (though Jason is actually a very old name too).

Not keen on Tate, it sounds too much like a surname to me.

Have you considered Aidan?

squoosh · 23/04/2015 13:01

The more I see Tate the more I like it.
