Help with boys names...DH and I can't agree!

We found out yesterday we are having a boy. We had a girls name picked that we both loved but we can't agree on a boys names! Here are our top 2 each. Any thoughts or suggestions of similar gratefully received!

Me:
Ellis
Jude

DH:
Stanley
Gabriel

I don't like names that can be used for either sex, so Jude and Ellis would be a no go. Jacob is a form of Jude.

Gabriel is religious so expect comments along those lines.

Stanley would be shortened to Stan - are you ok with that.

I like Jude, Stanley and Gabriel, but not keen on Ellis.

I also like Jethro.

I like Stanley, not so sure about the others. How do you both feel about each other's lists? We found it hard to agree on boys names too and ended up going into hospital with a shortlist, hoping he looked like one of the names. It did not work! I still wanted my names and he still wanted his. We spent four days going through books and websites to come up with something we could agree on (Franklin). It was not on any of our original lists and independently neither of us would have chosen it (i wanted Tobias or Jonas, I think he was pushing for Victor), but it suits him and we're happy with our choice.

I like your choices a lot more than your DH's.

Stanley/Stan reminds me of old men, very old.

Gabriel is an angel (archangel?) and quite frankly - odd.

Ellis is a great name, as is Jude (never heard of Jude as a girl's name as surely that would be Judy/Judi)

I love Gabriel, like Ellis.

I know of a girl called Jude and a dog called Stanley.

Stanley. Wanted it for us but dh vetoed it as his budgie named that.

It's a great name.

I like Gabriel and Jude. Really don't like Ellis, and Stanley is an old man's name that has inexplicably been revived and deemed cool!

Stanley is a family name on both sides so I like that it has meaning for us.

The girls name we picked was Beatrice.

We also like Xavier, to be called Xavi by us but I worry it's too "out there"

Xavier Stanley maybe?
You have to find a name you both like, even if it is not a top choice for either of you.

Favourites are Xavier and Ellis. I actually think Ellis is more 'out there' than Xavier. Also like Jude.

Stanley is ok, The other two I dislike and Gabriel is just awful.

The first 4 are all ok, but Xavier is great! Go for that one. Specially if you both like it.

I like jude ( one if mine which oh wont agree as irs unisex) not keen on the rest....I also like Nate myles rupert wyatt travis

Xavier is a bit much unless you have Spanish roots imo

Not super keen on Ellis, all the others are good and Stanley is especially cute (also good for teen and grown up)
