DH has his heart set on Sid now , which is growing on me . We wouldn't use Sidney atall as just don't like it , so he would always be Sid . Thoughts on Sid? Thanks

makes me think of the sloth from ice age... sorry

ThursdayLast · 28/02/2015 21:48

Why dont you like Sidney?

Also - evil kid from Toy Story

Babashka · 28/02/2015 21:48

Personally I don't like it.

What's the reasoning for Sid?

Aiden is a great boys name.

soundsystem · 28/02/2015 21:52

I love love love it. It seems like it's going to start getting a bit popular, not sure if that's a problem for you?

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 28/02/2015 21:53

Would make me think of Sid James. (not a pleasant association)

Sorry

SavoyCabbage · 28/02/2015 21:54

I thought you were asking about cot deaths.

Nishky · 28/02/2015 21:54

I like it!

Mixtape · 28/02/2015 21:54

I love it. We had it on a list, went for Stan in the end, but really love Sid and Sidney!

girliefriend · 28/02/2015 21:55

I think of ice age as well.

However I do know a young and very trendy mum who has a 1yo called Sid, he suits it Smile

AuntieStella · 28/02/2015 21:56

I think it's lovely.

(and I used to be able to recite Captain Beaky)

SavoyCabbage · 28/02/2015 21:56

Sorry, I feel awful now. It's a nice name. Popular down under where I live because of the Sydney association.

Sophronia · 28/02/2015 22:39

I only like it as a nickname for Sidney, it seems very incomplete as a full name.

wildpoppy · 28/02/2015 23:06

I like it. I like the character Sid in Skins

Limer · 28/02/2015 23:07

No. Hissing Sid for me too.

AuntieStella I reckon I could still recite Captain Beaky.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 28/02/2015 23:09

I love it and wanted it but DH didnt like it so we didnt use it.

ChickenMe · 28/02/2015 23:25

I do think it's sweet but am hung up on it being a snake's name.

caughtinthemoment · 28/02/2015 23:48

I like Sidney. Sid not so much.

Qwebec · 01/03/2015 01:00

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Cid

Bowlersarm · 01/03/2015 01:02

Awful, I hate it. Sorry OP.

okeydonkey · 01/03/2015 01:27

I know 2 Sidney's no Sid. Love it!

okeydonkey · 01/03/2015 01:27

That meant to say NN Sid not no sid

Fridgedooropen · 01/03/2015 01:32

I quite like it. It has more charm than some of the grandad chic names. Easy to spell too.

rockinrobintweet · 01/03/2015 20:36

LOVE it

GlitzAndGigglesx · 01/03/2015 20:50

I don't like it at all. I can't stand Sidney either for that matter

NoArmaniNoPunani · 01/03/2015 20:55

Sidney was my grandad's name. I love it.
