Anastasia - do you think 50 SObloodyG?

Dh and I were quite comfortable with Anastasia as a baby name for dd3 but with all of the hype for the 50 shades of grey movie we've realised its the same as the female lead.

Do you think of 50 shades for this name? Does it/ would it put you off?

I know a few Stacies who are just Stacy, not short for anything. I think Stacy is used as a name in its own right, like Sandra as a variant of Alexandra. The Stacies and Sandras I know were all born in the era of Sharon and Linda and Tracy in Ireland so I see them as sort of Sharon-esque names.

I thought it was a shame. Nice name like Anastasia being shortened to something like Stacie/Stacey

Now you've pointed it out...First thought was the American singer though.

I like it. I know two and they have the nicknames Ana and Tasie.
