Names like Laura?

I like Laura - in terms of it being Classic, but underused right now - but can't use it.

Equally I like Sophie, but worry it's too popular at the moment!

Any other suggestions? I was one of four in a year and don't want anything 'out there' but not something where they'll be known by 'Firstname Initial-of-Surname'!

Probably a naming holy Grail, I'll admit...

Flora

Oh and surname contains 3 't's and starts with a P so names with a T sound or any that start with a P are out.. Love alliterative names but P names sound like Polly Pocket!

Jessica is fab - do you think Decca as a nickname (cf Mitford sisters) is unbearably pretentious?

Helena and Naomi also lots of love for.

Incidentally (because I feel like a fraud in Baby Names) this is a distraction from the 2WW as I'm abstaining from the wine on Friday night!

Boys names I'm very set on - big fan of Alistair if that helps. Just too much choice with girls! (aware this is all wild fantasy as no BFP yet..)

Jecca for Jessica?

StayGoldPonyBoy · 06/02/2015 19:29

My niece is called Charlotte, she's not called Charlie by anyone, we call her Lottie and Lotta. DSis is Helene as in 'Hel-aine' which I think is lovely, though people who email her at work do try insist her name is Helen like she's made a typo Grin

Love Naomi, love Alice, DD was almost Verity but DH said noSad
