I'm just curious, which of the two do you prefer?

Meredith, but they're both good names imho!

Sophronia · 31/01/2015 11:02

Aurelia

Lunastarfish · 31/01/2015 14:38

Aurelia - it's the most beautiful name in the whole world!

satsumasunrise · 31/01/2015 14:45

I prefer Meredith by far.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 31/01/2015 14:52

Meredith - would have been a definite contender if we didn't have a similar-ish surname.

PunkAssMoFo · 31/01/2015 15:04

Meredith. It's everything a name should be.

Don't like the "oral" sound of Aurelia.

floatyflo · 31/01/2015 15:05

How is Aurelia promounced? I love Meredith btw!

CrispyFern · 31/01/2015 15:33

Meredith.

Don't like Aurelia at all.

Alisvolatpropiis · 31/01/2015 16:40

I'm terrible at writing pronunciations but I guess I say Aurelia as Oreelya. Three syllables. Which seems to work where I live in terms of what I have heard others say.

I am aware it is one of those names which has various pronunciations, none of them strictly the right/wrong one.

Both lovely!

Moher · 31/01/2015 18:09

Use both, they go well together

Alisvolatpropiis · 31/01/2015 18:43

I was thinking that Moher Smile

They're the front runners for our baby girl, due in June. I say front runners, they're the only names we like in the 'would actually use and agree on' sense. My DH and I have very different tastes so I'm quite surprised that we've come to any agreement so early!

Meredith.

yetanotherchangename · 31/01/2015 19:45

Meredith - Aurelia sounds like the bits round nipples!

TywysogesGymraeg · 31/01/2015 19:46

How would you pronounce Meredith? The Welsh way, or the English way?
MerEDith?
MERedith?

It's usually a boy's name in Wales.

WhatWouldBlairWaldorfDo · 31/01/2015 19:52

I love the name meredith! I think it works both as a 'pretty' young child name and as a grown up name. Beautiful.
Aurelia sounds like a disney princess to me. Nothing wrong with that of its your taste but wouldnt be my choice

bridgetsmummy · 31/01/2015 19:53

If we had another baby Meredith would be my first choice for girls name xx

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 31/01/2015 19:59

Meredith. Great name. I know one and she's lovely.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 31/01/2015 20:00

The one I know is mid 20's

poppetina · 31/01/2015 20:09

I really like both of them. In fact they were in my short list for dd (who ended up as Romilly). My only troubles with them were the different pronunciations of Aurelia and that I prefer the shortening of Meredith (to Merry) to the full name I think.

Lunastarfish · 31/01/2015 20:53

Aurelia is pronounced Or-ray-leah

TeWiSavesTheDay · 31/01/2015 21:03

I love Aurelia with a Portuguese accent!

But Meredith is my favourite.

Ems1812 · 31/01/2015 21:07

I think Aurelia is a beautiful name, isn't that the name of the girl that Colin Firth falls in love with in Love Actually?

DramaAlpaca · 31/01/2015 21:09

Aurelia

FATEdestiny · 31/01/2015 21:12

Meredith

Very nearly my DDs name
