4th Boy's name

Hellobump15 · 30/01/2015 13:04

I am expecting a surprise 4th baby due this spring.

We have 3 boys already for whom we have used 9 names between them, as they have all have 2 middle names. So as you can imagine boys names are proving tough!

We have a girls name decided Penelope Beatrice Betty, with Tabitha in reserve.

For boys we have a short list and I'd be grateful for any thoughts on them

Barnaby
Felix
Rufus
Rupert
Wilf (BC Wilfred)

Middle names are likely to be Edward Alexander Pip

Thank you

I love Rufus.

I'm lukewarm about Barnaby and Felix.

I dislike Rupert and Wilfred.

pilates · 30/01/2015 14:11

Barnaby

Mouthfulofquiz · 30/01/2015 14:14

Wilfred is really nice!

Smugnogplease · 30/01/2015 14:15

I love Rupert

notonyourninny · 30/01/2015 14:16

Love the last 3 boys names!! Love your girl choices too.Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/01/2015 14:19

Barnaby - love
Felix - dislike
Rufus -ok
Rupert - love
Don't like Wilf much but love Wilfred (prefer Fred as nn)

Why three middle names? Feels like massive over-kill! Edward nice. Can't see the point of having a nn (Pip) shoved on to the end, but like Pip/Philip as a first name.

montyandmabel · 30/01/2015 14:41

Loving your name choices. My faves are Barnaby & Rufus.

Bowlersarm · 30/01/2015 14:48

I love Rupert and Rufus.

Barnaby is ok.

Not keen on Felix.

Really dislike Wilfred/Wilf.

Tripthelightfanjotastic · 30/01/2015 15:08

Love love love Rupert and Barnaby

Wilf ok

Definitely don't like Rufus or Felix

HenriettaTurkey · 30/01/2015 15:16

Love Rufus

Guin1 · 30/01/2015 15:17

Love Felix.
Like Rufus and Barnaby.
Less keen on Rupert and Wilfred.

Are you planning for this DS to have 3 middle names??

LikeABadSethRogenMovie · 30/01/2015 15:21

We nearly called DC4 Barnaby 11 years ago. In retrospect, I'm glad we didn't as I'm not sure it's quite as cute on an 11 yo as it was for a baby/toddler.

I really like Felix and Wilf.

chillytonight · 30/01/2015 15:36

Love Rupert! What are your other DS's names?

Hellobump15 · 30/01/2015 16:08

Thank you everyone, it's really helpful to gauge reactions to the names.

Looks like Barnaby, Rufus and Rupert are pretty equal and likewise Wilf & Felix pretty equal behind them.

Remus - I thought as Pip was so short we might get away with it as a 3rd middle name. All 3 of the middle names have significance & this is definitely our last chance naming saloon. Pip actually has the most sentimental value so if we went for 2 it'd be Edward Pip or Alexander Pip

Chilly - My other boys' names would totally out me & we'd like to keep names under wraps until the birth. But I'm happy they 'go' with this short list

Love Rufus - this would definitely be my pick. I want to like Barnaby, but for me there's just something a bit cutesy and twee about it. With Rupert I can't get over the 'posh' stereotype, even though there are far posher names out there - I can't help imagining a braying Hooray Henry in bright red trousers! Wilfred I think could grow on me. Felix is just OK - think it might be taking off in popularity, as I've met/taught quite a few recently.

shakemysilliesout · 30/01/2015 17:03

Barnaby please

Artandco · 30/01/2015 17:36

Rufus Pip Alexander

Have you considered:
Angus
Magnus
Fergus

StickersInATwist · 30/01/2015 17:47

Loving your names OP! (I have used some of them!)

Barnaby is probably my favourite, but perhaps Rufus is the easiest to carry off in teenage years?

(I'm also now desperate to know your other boys' names! I'm thinking Alexander, Sebastian and Theodore. Or maybe Montgomery!) Smile

Barnaby (or I'd go for Barnabas I think)

then either Rufus or Felix as safer but still v nice

Rupert I like, but it's not as interesting as any of the above really.

Don't like Wilf/Wilfred.

StickersInATwist · 30/01/2015 18:16

Sorry OP, just seen that you specifically don't want your other boys named on here. My bad. Sure my guesses were wrong anyway! Blush

chillytonight · 30/01/2015 18:51

Yes OP, sorry, of course revealing your other names would out you! Which name is your favourite from the list?

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 30/01/2015 19:19

Rufus or Felix would be my choice! Felix is however becoming pretty popular so depends if that matters! (It's my current top choice for DC2!).

ourglass · 30/01/2015 19:20

Can I throw Lenny in?

Sophronia · 30/01/2015 21:36

I like Wilfred the best.
