Middle name for Emily

In am currently overdue with DD1 and still can't decide on her name!

First name will probably be Emily - it is a name I have always wanted for a girl, and despite it's popularity it's the only name we agree on and that goes with our surname. Other first names I have considered were Isabella, Poppy, Charlotte and Ava (to give an idea of my tastes)

I am now stuck for a middle name. Surname is quite short (and starts with M) so am open to longer and more adventurous middle name. Would love to honour various family members, but sadly not at all keen on their names, which include Lesley, Brenda or Joanne.

Any and all suggestions would be welcome please!!

Rose. I love flower names, appreciate this is not long but I think it has a nice ring with Emily

Anything but Rose.

The ERM wouldnt bother me, but Rose as a middle name is quite bland, like the 'louise' and 'jane' phase of middle names in the 80s and 90s.

Rose as a first name is beautiful though.

Ps OP I wouldn't be too worried about the ERM, although admit I hadn't clocked that when I posted!

I knew someone when I was a child who was called Ian. His initials were IAN. That was pretty cool

You're being oversensitive. Name suggestions for the OP and no other discussion would make for rather a dull thread. You suggest Rose as a middle name and I suggest that Rose as a middle name has been done to death.

Hardly a controversial statement to make.

I like Emily Rose but what about Emily Lesia (pronounced Le-sha) - kind of a nod to Lesley

Emily Rose makes me think of The Exorcism of Emily Rose .

I think a more unusual longer middle name would go well with Emily. I really like pp suggestion of Emily Constance .

Emily Leandra - means lioness in Greek and kind if incorporates Brenda, Joanne and Lesley!

I think Emily Rose is lovely, but would probably go Emily Charlotte with a short last name.

Love Emily, it was high up on my girls name list but I'm having a boy.
