Which do you think is the nicest and goes best with DD1 Louisa?

So choices are

Ruby Isabella

Olivia Rose

Both are quite similar in terms of popularity where we are.
Many thanks!

I have an R I for my dd1 so I vote for that one!

PuggyMum · 16/01/2015 22:52

And I don't mind that some people think it's too popular at the moment as she's named after my MIL and a great aunt.

mathanxiety · 17/01/2015 03:15

Isabella Rose sounds a little like a question...

How about
Annabel
Charlotte
Emily
Emma
Alica
Sophia

mathanxiety · 17/01/2015 03:16

Alica Alice..

JustAnotherControlFreak · 17/01/2015 03:57

sorry but when I quickly read the choice options I read the Ruby option as Rubella so for me it's Olivia

Mrsindecision · 17/01/2015 14:55

Yes, a difficult one indeed OP. Have you spoken to DH recently about your feelings about the name Isabella? Given you still like it, you may feel the same sense of regret if you don't use it again.
How about the name Eliza? (Although it's possibly too similar sounding to Louisa for some!?)

ImperialBlether · 17/01/2015 14:59

But OliviaMN, nobody thinks of olives when they see your name; they think of gin!

Cupcakes123 · 17/01/2015 15:09

Ruby Grin

pictish · 17/01/2015 15:14

Ruby Isabella is too much of a mouthful...the names don't flow into one another well, and they're both fighting for attention with one another. Together they make a brash, noisy name.
I far prefer Olivia Rose.

HalleLouja · 17/01/2015 15:14

Louisa is an amazing name and not sure any other names could go with it Grin. I might be a teeny bit biased.

Olivia out of your two goes better I think.

How about

Sophia
Zoe
Alexa
Helena

Mrsindecision I did actually speak to him about Isabella last night! So we have put it back on the list! I like Eliza but do think its a wee bit too similar to Louisa in sound. I really do love Isabella though but am stumped a bit on a middle name. As much as I love Isabella Rose, I worry that that particular combination is very popular but I can't find another middle I love as much with it!

Thanks for the other suggestions everyone, I absolutely love Emily and Sophia but they are out as family have used them. Emily is soooo popular here, I seriously must know 6 under 2!! I love Alice too but our surname begins with S so anything with the s sound at the end of the first name just doesn't sound right I don't think. That's a bit disturbing to know that people thought of rubella when they saw my ruby choice!! Might have to rethink that one!!!

I think Ruby Rose sounds lovely.

mathanxiety · 17/01/2015 19:57

Isabella Madeleine
Isabella Fay
Isabella Joy
Isabella Marie
Isabella Frances
Isabella Catherine
Isabella Aurora
Isabella Simone
Isabella Ruth
Isabella Therese
Isabella Renee
Isabella Rosalind
Isabella Jane
Isabella Christine

Petal7 · 17/01/2015 20:01

Isabella Rose is perfect

Sparkleheart · 17/01/2015 20:53

Ooh mathanxiety I love Isabella Jane! Plus that's my sister in law's middle name and I would love to honour her as we are really close. Another one for my list!!

I like them both but like to sound of Olivia rose better for some reason. X

dietcokeandwine · 17/01/2015 22:03

Isabella is pretty but with your older DD's name I would try and avoid another 'a' ending name if I were you...

How about Isabel? Isabel Ruby would be very pretty.

Or (combining your two original suggestions) you could have Ruby Olivia.

(Louisa is an absolutely gorgeous name btw. I would have used it for my DC had they not all been boys!)

zukiecat · 18/01/2015 22:59

Olivia Rose for me, it's just so much prettier.

fattymcfatfat · 18/01/2015 23:06

Rose is my dds middle name. It goes beautiful with a longer first name I agree with isabella. My dd is bernadette rose.

cantbelieveimonhere · 18/01/2015 23:22

Olivia Rose, as both Olivia and Louisa have 3 syllables. A two-syllabled name (eg Ruby) would sound very harsh/abrupt, in a "calling up the stairs voice", when called alongside Louisa.

MrsJacksonAvery · 18/01/2015 23:26

I have an Isabella Rose, so, in my v.biased opinion, it is the most beautiful :-)

I like Olivia and Rose together.
I like Ruby and wouldn't add a middle name.

Drunkendonut · 19/01/2015 00:25

Ruby Rose?
I love the alliteration.
Both pretty names but I prefer Ruby to Olivia.

VinoTime · 19/01/2015 00:26

All four names are just so popular now, even as combinations, and that would massively put me off.

But I love the idea of shortening Olivia to Ollie for a little girl as a NN - a friend of mine does this with her Olivia and it really suits her! And Rose is very pretty as a middle name and flows beautifully.
