Hope?

I had my scan today and we are having a girl! I've been toying with a few names, Anya being my favourite but vetoed by DH Angry.

I like the name Hope, and after recurrant miscarriages it seems fitting also, but I know it's a marmite name. What do you all think? Those that may like it, can you suggest middle names that might go nicely? Thanks in advance!

I like it Smile

MehsMum · 30/12/2014 16:53

Love it. A 3-syllable name in the middle would balance it a bit - something like Abigail or Elizabeth or Isabel.

nataliejayne1 · 30/12/2014 16:56

I like it, a girl in my daughters class is called Hope Eliza, I think it's a pretty name

burgatroyd · 30/12/2014 17:05

It sounds a little wet.

Icedfinger · 30/12/2014 17:09

I know a Hope Elizabeth, I think it's lovely

UptownFunk · 30/12/2014 17:14

Congratulations on your girl. Looks like you will have to change your username! RaisingMenAndHope. I like that!

Hope is lovely. I met a little one recently. I like word names for names, but I personally prefer something longer so they have options. But as short word names go, Hope is great. What are your boys called?

Hope Tatiana
Hope Blythe
Hope Kismet
Hope Héloïse
Hope Seraphina

Beautiful name middle names ideas:

Hope Isabelle
Hope felicity
Hope Abigail
Hope Beatrice

moxon · 30/12/2014 17:26

I like Hope. I also like the one of uptown's suggestions but would suggest Hope Eloise as an alternative.

Sophronia · 30/12/2014 18:56

I like it but prefer it as a middle name.

RaisingMen · 30/12/2014 19:03

Thank you for all your comments Smile. I have considered it as a middle name and its not out of the question. I really love all of the middle names that have been suggested, I've got a lot to think about!

I prefer Hope to Anya.

How about Hope Alexandra or Hope Rebecca?

myotherusernameisbetter · 30/12/2014 19:14

What about some of the names that mean "longed for" or "wished for" child?

Evelyn
Mia
Miriam
Mary
Marissa

I like Hope but do think it's better as a middle name

Miriam Hope or Marissa Hope maybe?

Deerhound · 30/12/2014 19:24

I like Hope Isobelle

CPtart · 30/12/2014 19:27

I know one aged 8. Hope Catherine.
Don't like it as a first name I'm afraid.

RaisingMen · 30/12/2014 20:21

I like Hope Alexandra, and also Alexandra Hope! Evelyn is now on the list but I don't like any of the M names other than Mia, but that's the name of my best friends little girl x

I like Alexandra Hope Smile

flowerbum · 30/12/2014 21:14

I think it's a lovely name. Definitely think a three sylable middle name sounds best with it. My daughter is paige victòria. Think one sylable sounds best with longer middle name.

christmaspies · 30/12/2014 21:15

I like it but it sounds better as a middle name

RaisingMen · 30/12/2014 21:33

I like that flowerbum

I love Hope.

Agree with others it works best with a longer middle name.
