Today found out we are having a little girl and can not decide on name, so hard when naming girls.

We like these names what do people think also any other name people like?

Thanks :)

Astrid.

Lovely, sounds stronger.

Congratulations!

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 25/11/2014 12:56

I have an Imogen, but love Astrid too!

ARGHtoAHHH · 25/11/2014 12:57

Love, love, love Imogen.

Had we had a girl, we would have named her either Imogen or Oonagh. We had a boy!

Like Astrid, but would be worried it would be shortened to 'ass'

skyra13 · 25/11/2014 13:08

Yes my DH loves astrid for a name but I am worried they will be called assturd :(

Astrid

adarkwhisperinthewoodwasheard · 25/11/2014 13:14

I know an Astrid who is amazing. Her name's never been shortened

Not so keen on Imogen, but that might be personal experiences tainting my view!

skyra13 · 25/11/2014 13:17

I was reading up about the name and its the nickname sum1 got given but it is a beautiful name.

I am finding girls names hard nothing is jumping out at me yet!

Imogen

nottheOP · 25/11/2014 13:19

Astrid sounds like an ointment or something to me. It is also similar to Astral moisturiser.

I like Imogen though.

VainVulva · 25/11/2014 13:22

Love and adore Astrid! I think Sis or Sissy would be a cute nn!

Bowlersarm · 25/11/2014 13:23

Imogen.

Not keen on Astrid.

What about Heidi, Iona, Isabel.

ARGHtoAHHH · 25/11/2014 14:21

assturd? sorry but pahahahahaha!

Belazu84 · 25/11/2014 15:22

Too much like astringent. I prefer Astra, but then I suppose you'd get comments about cars.
Imogen is lovely though Smile

Love Imogen. Astrid OK.

skyra13 · 25/11/2014 15:41

It is nice to see what people think :) In the Uk 1500 girls were called Imogen last year and only 64 Astrid.

cherrybombxo · 25/11/2014 15:41

Love Imogen.

OnlyLovers · 25/11/2014 15:41

Congrats!

I like Imogen well enough, but Astrid is BEAUTIFUL.

As for potential nicknames, tbh whatever a child is called some little shits children will find some nasty name to call them, so I wouldn't worry about it.

ARGHtoAHHH · 25/11/2014 15:42

Assturd Farty?

Crying here.
