If we liked Jemima...

Dd is Jemima. We are now expecting dc2 and I'm struggling with girls' names. (We struggled last time too but she came out holding a sign!)

We don't have millions of Jemimas in our neck of the woods, and when people ask what dd is called we've always had really positive responses, like it was a name they'd forgotten about but are pleased to be reminded of.

I like Florence but she'd be one of several in her class as far as I can see.

Quite like Felicity. Also Cecily, maybe...

Felicity is lovely, I have a 12 month old one and we have a similar reaction to you have described to Jemima. People always seem pleasantly surprised to hear it! Also like Cecily.

I don't know but am watching as I had jemima as my number one choice for dc1, who turned out to be a boy and is Sebastian. Still love both of these names. Got a boys one lined up but struggling with girls. Still might be jemima though! One of my others on the list is Natalia but I think I like Jemima better. Naming a second child is hard!

Fair point re the Duck. Mine actually believes her surname to be Puddleduck too

I do like Matilda/ Tilly as well.

I was going to suggest Matilda. Or Tabitha or Harriet.

I like Harriet but one of dd's little NCT friends is this so I feel it's too close a connection.

Bizarrely I like Marianne - bizarre because I was bullied by one at school, I wonder whether it would always be slightly tainted.

Marianne is fab! Immediately I think of Sense and Sensibility.

Goes very well with Jemima, I think.

I do love the name Jemima, (think we are both June 12 mums!) and I also think Felicity is fab. It's the nicknames that get me a bit with Felicity, I'm not keen on Flick or Fliss, but it's quite long not to be shortened!

We are also struggling with another girl name if DC2 is a DD!!

Also think Matilda is a lovely sibling for a Jemima!

3 sisters at my dcs school are Cleo, daphne and Jemima

I love Marianne and it goes perfectly with Jemima. Cecily is nice too, and quite unusual.

I love Jemima but it was my childhood cats name.

Felicity was my first choice when I first saw the post but other names I like are Phoebe, Arabella and Fleur
