Callie?

What do people think for a girl? I love it but unsure if people will mistake it for Kelly, which I don't like.

Other possibles are Winter, River, Anna or Ottilie. Middle name to be Rose.

Thanks :)

Sorry not keen on Callie, but do like Anna. Rose is very nice but prefer it as a first name.

AddToBasket · 11/11/2014 17:25

Dog's name.

Love Ottilie tho.

squoosh · 11/11/2014 17:33

I like Callie but would assume it was short for something.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 11/11/2014 17:40

We hadx calleigh on our list - DH is a huge CSI Miami fan! We had a boy in the end but I still like the name (either spelling.

Floralnomad · 11/11/2014 17:44

Agree it sounds like a nn ,how about Calandra Rose with Callie for nn . Winter and River both sound silly with Rose.

burgatroyd · 11/11/2014 17:48

Its OK. I like it as a shortening for calista

sanilee · 11/11/2014 17:50

I like it as a nickname but not as a full name. Prefer Calliope or Camilla nn Callie.

SmallBee · 11/11/2014 18:06

Iove it, I would make it short for Calliope which is pretty

squoosh · 11/11/2014 18:07

I think Callie can be short for Caroline too. Calliope reminds me of leg calipers.

Sophronia · 11/11/2014 18:11

I like it as a nickname for Calanthe, Callista, Calliope, Caroline or Calla, but not as a full first name.

Anna Rose is lovely too.

weegiemum · 11/11/2014 18:17

I know an old man called Callie (spelt Caladh) - short for Caledonia, I kid not.
Certainly in parts of Scotland it's a shortening for Calum as well.

The Gaelic name means "A safe harbour" which I think is lovely. Just it's automatically a boy's name for me!

McFox · 11/11/2014 18:19

It's nice but makes me think of the cartoon Sheriff Callie which seems to be the programme of choice for 4 year olds at the moment!

I really like it.
I love Anna though.

verelab · 11/11/2014 20:06

I like Callie. I know one who is a Caroline - also a nice name. Calista is another lovely long "version".

Sorry, but dislike Anna - v boring!

Kookydooda · 11/11/2014 20:12

As in sheriff callie???!!!

BirdhouseInYourSoul · 11/11/2014 20:12

I know a Kallie (prefer the C spelling tbh) and her mother often gets asked what it's short for.

Sophronia · 11/11/2014 20:14

I know a Kally short for Katherine.

Lunastarfish · 12/11/2014 18:21

I think it's pretty but I'd probably have Calantha and Callie as a nn. She'll be the only Callie around

LadySansa · 12/11/2014 19:10

I like it. Not sure what I'd go for as a long version, but I don't think it really needs it. Love Anna and Ottilie too.

River Rose and Winter Rose sound a bit odd, though the names are all lovely it's just too nature-y.

fishfingerSarnies · 12/11/2014 21:10

I like it, would use caroline as a full name I think.

BonnieWeeJeannieMcCall · 12/11/2014 21:20

I knew a lovely Callie, but I assumed it was short for something.

TheWhispersOfTheGods · 12/11/2014 21:21

I really don't like it, it sounds chavvy to me, and it's not a strong name for an adult imo. All the longer forms (other than Caroline) sound contrived. It would get confused for Kelly on the phone too.

It is very very different from your other options, which i love. Ottilie is great, i like River and Winter a lot, although less with Rose as a mn, and Anna is always a nice choice.

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/11/2014 21:25

I like it. Calliope is good as a full name.

Makes me think of Dr torres.Grin
