I have called my dd elle (ellie) but everyone calls her el
I understand that in English it spells el but if you look up how to pronouce elle it comes up with el or ellie
it's making me feel like I have done it wrong people will judge me for it.
has anyone been in the same situation or have any advice?

Thumbwitch I don't mean to be rude but you all look a bit porky in those photos. Low carb bitches.........and maybe a bit of Veet.

wooooosualsuspect · 17/10/2014 19:33

She might have got 'chow' wrong.

She got the next word right though.

Bowlersarm · 17/10/2014 19:37

Ah well.

A full circle of a thread.

Never mind baby El. Babybel.

squoosh · 17/10/2014 19:37

I quite like the Op's chutzpah, makes a change from snippy outrage.

Let's hope Ell(i)e inherits her mother's 'shoot from the hip' style.

Rofl at chow Grin

SirChenjin · 17/10/2014 19:44

Chow bitches??! Elleeee's mum's spelling is not really her strong point, is it? Grin

Unless, of course, that's how they spell ciao in New York Wink

SophieJoe2014 · 17/10/2014 20:10

I spelt ciao incorrectly on purpose just to see how much more can be fired out on this post lol
I was waiting for a "you say it as you read it" comment.

Is thread is giving me a warm, fuzzy feeling about the UK's relationship with Europe. And small, fluffy dogs. Smile

badtime · 17/10/2014 20:18

Yes, you meant to do that. Hmm

That might be marginally more convincing if you hadn't already demonstrated that spelling is not your strong point.

wanttosinglikemarycoughlan · 17/10/2014 20:25

I believe you OP Wink

NeedsAsockamnesty · 17/10/2014 20:41

You asked how easy it is to change,

As she's so young and if you now think you have spelt it incorrectly the its a honest error and if you apply quickly via your registry office you can get a naming error corrected on the birth cert

CheeseEqualsHappiness · 17/10/2014 20:45

Never heard of Elle being pronounced Ellie. I would be one who got it wrong, but you should expect that and bat it off positively. It is unusual

livelablove · 17/10/2014 20:55

Not having a baby to name I never used to look at the baby names board but recently I have been viewing active threads so I see them. There's been some really funny ones recently. I know it was made up but the Balonz one is my favourite.
