Sorry but it's a bit too "chavtastic" for my liking!

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 01/10/2014 11:26

Chavtastic, and sounds too much like harlot. Harley would be marginally better, though I still don't like that really.

CitronVert · 01/10/2014 11:26

Not my cup of tea but if you like it then spelling it Harley would prevent lots of frustration throughout her life.

HattyMonkey · 01/10/2014 11:27

I know a couple of little boys called Harley they are 3 and 6. Don't know any with that spelling though. I am not a fan of tinkering with spellings to look original to be honest.

divingoffthebalcony · 01/10/2014 11:28

Boy or girl?

Harley makes me think boy. Rae makes me think girl. If you think switching the "y" ending for an "ie" makes the name feminine, I don't really agree.

AuntieStella · 01/10/2014 11:29

Harley makes me think 'motorbike'

skylark2 · 01/10/2014 12:24

It looks rather as if the C fell off the front.

Not a fan.

Behoove · 01/10/2014 12:26

That's my sisters dogs name. He is lovely though.

Sophronia · 01/10/2014 13:02

I'm not keen. Also, I know a boy Harley-Ray.

grocklebox · 01/10/2014 13:45

awful. Uneeq spelling of a not very nice name. And what is this new fashion for "Rae"?

ThursdayLast · 01/10/2014 13:46

Is Harley a name?

Madamecastafiore · 01/10/2014 13:46

Horrid.

usualnamechanger · 01/10/2014 13:47

Only if your surname is Davidson and you are naming a bike.

Floggingmolly · 01/10/2014 13:50

Godawful. What's the point? Confused You can be different without being crap.

WowserBowser · 01/10/2014 13:55

No, don't like it at all.

Rae is like 'Ooh Mae is a bit popular now - I know!! - I will use Rae'

CPtart · 01/10/2014 14:05

Dislike. Intensely.

iwantgin · 01/10/2014 14:08

No. The poor kid will have to constantly spell that out.

insanityscratching · 01/10/2014 14:22

No, awful. Hate the spelling, could only be made worse by hyphenating.

cherrybombxo · 01/10/2014 14:27

I hate "Rae" at the best of times but especially with a misspelled first name.

Heels99 · 01/10/2014 14:55

Girl or boy?

Is the question that will constantly be asked. Or are you choosing a name you can use for either? Covering all bases.

squoosh · 01/10/2014 15:19

I don't like Harlie but I do like Rae, but as a stand alone name not as an add on.

Montsti · 01/10/2014 15:24

Not to my taste, sorry!

tippytappywriter · 01/10/2014 15:28

No. But if you like it...

Naicecuppatea · 01/10/2014 15:29

Awful. Poor child.

AnythingNotEverything · 01/10/2014 15:29

If you have to spell your surname, be kind and give a more traditional first name.
