I need help before I end up being deported for irrational pregnant rage against DP.

I'm English, he's Mexican so we're looking for a name that can be used and pronounced easily in both countries. All my suggestions, like Eva, Ana, Sofia, are either too popular or 'for really old señoras'. On the other hand, he's coming out with such classics as 'Brenda' and 'Ethel' and even 'Fanny'.

I don't really care about popularity, although I don't really want to have a name that I associate with my great great grandmother. (see Ethel). Can anyone help us?!

Oops! Felipa? Irene pronounced sort of like ir-eh-nay?

Not got any new suggestions but our family know about cross-cultural baby-naming! So difficult! My Korean auntie really wanted to call her daughter Cauliflower! 'But it sounds so beautiful'! I'd go with Anna or Maria :)

Fantastic suggestions, thanks so much everyone. I'm now armed for tonight's round - I absolutely love some of those names, so will see what his verdict is. If I can get a shortlist of 3 that we both vaguely agree on tonight I'll be happy!

Last night's suggestion was Concepción. I had no energy to even continue that conversation...

Well, the shortlist was made... we have a Rosa, a Luciana, Clara, Gabriella, Camilla, Natalia with another list for me to work on DP with of names I loved and he didn't absolutely hate. Thank you all! I now have confidence that our poor daughter won't be nameless forever...
