Do you know many?

I like quirky type names.

It's ridiculous as a given name.

ThatBloodyWoman · 21/07/2014 18:39

Well,I like it.

IfNotNowThenWhen · 21/07/2014 18:40

Yeah, I think it's a nickname for either Victoria or Elizabeth-forget which.
See, I don't hate it, but those kind of "Pearl, Jean, Shirley" type names that are very mid 20th centrury are becoming very in, so I would worry her name would seriously date her.
I like Q though. Tres Bond Grin

"Princess" is a Pit Bull. You weren't serious about that were you??

shouldacoulda · 21/07/2014 19:23

Nice

SunshineOutdoors · 21/07/2014 19:29

I like it

maggiethemagpie · 21/07/2014 21:32

Love it!

bleurghblah · 21/07/2014 21:55

Love it

CruCru · 22/07/2014 13:53

I think it is nice for a tiny child or a really old lady. However I can't imagine a 45 year old Queenie with two kids, a job, a husband and a mortgage.

CaptainSinker · 23/07/2014 20:34

If you are planning to give birth to a large breeding sow who will lie lie by the back door nosing food scraps from a pail while nursing piglets it is PERFECT.

maggiethemagpie · 23/07/2014 21:47

I'm actually going to give my cat (when I get one) this name. Love love love it!

mulberrylover · 23/07/2014 21:51

Can you see an adult of importance being called Queenie? A supermarket worker maybe- but a merchant banker, a doctor, a teacher? No.

bigoldbird · 23/07/2014 21:55

A particular couple of friends refer to me as Queenie. I love it. :-)

Primadonnagirl · 23/07/2014 21:59

V Enid Blyton

commonorgarden · 23/07/2014 22:05

I think it's Elizabeth. Why not give the DD the long name and just call her Queenie all the time? We did something similar with DB and our DSs.

Then she gets to choose which she uses.

I know a birth certificate 'Lottie'. I could never understand why they didn't just call her Charlotte and leave the child's options open.

mulberry I disagree with you entirely!
I think if a person is 'important' then it doesn't matter what they're called. I can easily imagine a Queenie Last being interviewed on the bbc as an expert in something or other.

millymae · 23/07/2014 22:27

Mulberrylover we'll have to agree to disagree on your views on Queenie - times have moved on so far as names are concerned. I know plenty of adults of importance with names that might be considered in some circles as quirky or dare I say it common and no-one bats an eyelid.

I love Queenie but I love Bridie more! Go for it OP

OscarWinningActress · 23/07/2014 22:29

Love, love, love it Smile.

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 23/07/2014 22:32

Love it.

Panzee · 23/07/2014 22:33

You know children who are actually called Princess? Gee whizz.

rainbowfeet · 23/07/2014 22:34

Love love love it!! ... Was on my short list but i went & had a boy!!

FelixFelix · 23/07/2014 22:36

I love it. Also love the name Birdie which I think is also a nickname for Elizabeth?

expatinscotland · 23/07/2014 23:05

I want a maltipoo bitch and her name will be Queenie.

squoosh · 23/07/2014 23:12

And she will be the baddest bitch on the street! Queenies don't mess around.

NadiaWadia · 24/07/2014 04:32

Sorry, I don't like it much at all. I think it was originally a nickname for 'Victoria' (for obvs reasons) and it still seems rather dated and more a nickname than a proper name.
