Does Sirius sound alright?

DS is due soon and still struggling with his name.
We like Jack and Sirius so thinking using both of them. Will it work?
Jack Sirius or Sirius Jack?

We also like David, Isaac and Charles.

We don't mind if there 2 or 3 middle names but we like Sirius in there if it doesn't work as a first. Oh, we have to get Jack in there as well.

PS. The surname is 2 syllables.
All thoughts welcomed.

Awfs.

Humm... Cyrus doesn't really fit with Sirius. I think its the "us" bit on the end of both names that clashes a bit. Nice name though Shedding and MelonCauliflower

Haha, thanks. I think you might have just thrown another name into the mix there. We seem to be having a name rethink....again

I think two middle names op.

It would make the monosyllabic Jack and polysyllabic Sirius flow better

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 08/07/2014 15:49

Silas was on my list

I used to have a fish called Sirius (otherwise known as big black sucky thingy-he was a dogfish) also had caster and Pollux

VenusDeWillendorf · 08/07/2014 15:58

Sirius black.
Jack black?

Are you on a theme?

I like Silas, but think of George Elliot.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/07/2014 21:50

No.

SanityClause · 08/07/2014 21:58

Sirius is fine.

If you like it, and it has meaning for you, go for it.

I always wanted to call DD1 Phebe, like the girl in Eight Cousins. But when I was pregnant, it was not long after Friends had finished, and I worried people would think I had got the idea from that, so I didn't use it. No one would think about that association, now.

Please don't worry about Harry Potter, but use Sirius if you like it.

Fram · 08/07/2014 21:59

I think it's nice, but that's possibly because we know an 8yo named Sirius.

Not Jack, please!

SanityClause · 08/07/2014 22:01

Also, middle names are rarely used. Your DS will be Sirius Surname, not Sirius Jack Surname, except, possibly, when he gets married!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 08/07/2014 22:14

You deffo having a boy?

I quite like Cilla for a girl.

Wink

It's a tricky one. Having so many syllables it would roll off the tongue better as a first name than a middle name.

EbaneezerScrooge · 09/07/2014 12:08

Definitely a boy according to all the scans.

And why not Jack Fram? I know its popular its why we also like Sirius (not very popular and unusual).

I do not like Sirius at all...it's name a good name for a human to my mind;-)
