Louise and Jane - late 70's.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 19/06/2014 22:24

Oh and John or James for boys. Usually with the first name of Steven, Mark or Andrew.

IsSpringSprangedYet · 19/06/2014 22:27

I was going to say Louise. Born in the 80s.

JadziaSnax · 19/06/2014 22:27

Jayne or Louise - 70s.

rosy71 · 19/06/2014 22:30

Elizabeth or Jane - 1970s

catinbootz · 19/06/2014 22:33

Louise 1980

PurpleBoot · 19/06/2014 22:34

Late 60's - Jane by far the most, also Helen, Claire, Elizabeth, Sarah.

Marcipex · 19/06/2014 22:38

60s, Jane and Jayne.

sarahlundssweater · 19/06/2014 22:39

Louise, 1973

annieoaklie · 19/06/2014 22:41

Mary, me and all my siblings have this, including my brothers. 60's-70s

elvisola · 19/06/2014 22:44

Mine is Jayne - 1975.

Poussay · 19/06/2014 22:44

80s, louise Elizabeth and Marie!

SnapeAndLily · 19/06/2014 22:45

Like everyone else! - Louise, Claire, Jane - late 70s. James for boys.

Friends' 'modern' babies Grin - mainly Rose

I haven't spotted a trend in my class of 10 year olds, although William seems to be reasonably popular for boys.

AnnField · 19/06/2014 22:47

Louise must be one of the most popular middle names ever judging by this thread. It also happens to be my middle name (1980s) and my DSDs middle name (2001)!

LauraChant · 19/06/2014 22:51

In 1975, all babies, by law, had to have the middle name Louise. Even the boys. True fact.

minimuffin · 19/06/2014 22:51

Jane, Claire, Louise, Elizabeth or Marie (born 70s). Almost everyone in my all-girl class at secondary school had one of these - made me quite glad I didn't have a middle name. Agree with whoever said the equivalent now is Rose and May.

My best friend had the middle name Frances which I thought was beautiful.

60s - middle name nearly always Jane, or variant thereof.

Popular names generally included Louise, Helen, Elizabeth, Claire/Clare, Samantha, Emma, Patricia.

All the boys were called Dave, Chris, Pete, Paul, Simon, John, Jonathan, Andrew or Nicholas.

Floggingmolly · 19/06/2014 22:58

Angela, Linda - 80's.

PurplyBlue · 19/06/2014 22:58

Oh, how could I forget the ubiquitous Steves and Marks!

PurplyBlue · 19/06/2014 23:03

And Mikes!

BlueStarsAtNight · 19/06/2014 23:04

Another one to say Louise and Jane, 80's!

Nereida · 20/06/2014 00:17

Louise, particularly the fn mn combination 'Emma Louise', I know so many with that name!

Early 90s.

NinjaLeprechaun · 20/06/2014 00:20

Helen, Louise - early 70s
I was born in the early 70s and one of these was nearly my middle name and the other one is my middle name (but is also my mum's first name). Who knew my mum was so trendy - my first name was unfortunately about 20 years out of date, and must have been popular when she was a child.

I think all my good friends when I was little shared the same middle name - Claire.

thecageisfull · 20/06/2014 00:21

Louise and Jane. I know 4 Sarah Janes.
