Loads of little 'Oceane' and Max is very popular in France at the mo.

Killian seems to be the new Keveeeeen (both breton, doncha know).

My neighbour in Holland has just called her son Taco (which is a very old dutch name, apparently). Keep having to bite my tongue not to call him enchilada...

Tereza has been the top girl's name in the Czech Republic for years. Followed by Adela, last thing I saw.

OK, so Mumsnet has mangled some of the accents. Katerina, Ondrej, Matej (last two are the Czech equivalents of Andrew and Matthew).

I have relatives in several different countries.

In Australia Dawson and Patina, in New Zealand Kobi and Taz (short for Taran), in America Rae-shelle (her parents are Raymond and Shelley), and a cousin whose parents are English and Japanese is called Atom. I did wonder whether his sister would end up being called Molecule, but she turned out to be a Teresa.

No specifically english names in the top 20 (disregarding international names like Anna and Emma etc)

POland:
In DD1's preschool class there are
4 x Gabriela
2 x Julia (pron. Yulia)
2 x Weronika (pron. Veronica)

Other popular girls' names are Wiktoria (Vic...), Aleksandra (shortened to Ola), Zuzanna and the evergreen Anna (Ania), Magdalena and Maria. Among chav types some anglosaxon names are qu. popular such as Jessica (my name - see the eyebrows when I introduce myself), Vanessa, Roxana .

Boys are Jakub, Mateusz (= Matthew), Krzysztof (=Christopher), Michal (=Michael).

In both boys and girls the grandparent name revival is happening too so girls: Aniela, Lena, Klara, Hanna
but esp. Stanislaw among boys.
