I work in a maternity hospital and enjoy looking on the baby names threads and compare with names I've heard at work need to get a life
I cannot get over the number of people who proudly announce their little ones name as nevaeh and think they are the first to think of it
I of course just smile and say its lovely but FFS there are 100's of kids running around with this name, some people don't even spell it correctly!

I have tried, but the phonics hurt my brain. So I'm not sure how you say it.

When i was having ds a lady in the bed next to me had had a boy instead of the predicted girl who would have been called nevaeh i just thought that baby had had a lucky escape!

There's a little Neveya at my school, I had no idea it could be spelt Nevaeh. She's a pretty girl and it's a pretty name.

Looks like my guesses at the pronunciation were about right. I'm not keen. It seems odd (to me) to pick a name because of a weird backwards spelling rather than because it sounds nice.

But, then I remind myself how much DS2's name us reviled on MN are realise my opinion doesn't matter.

What I particularly hate about this name is the fact that is is backwards. It makes me think it has the opposite meaning, like the upside down cross in the black mass, for example. So in my head it just means the opposite of heaven.
