Claudia - I love it. Then Imogen.

Would the meaning of Claudia - lame - put anyone off?

No - I know it means that because it's come up on here before but I don't know the meaning of anyone's name other than mine and my BFF's from when we were eight and looked them up, and DS1's because someone else told me.

So in my unscientific sample of one people don't really bother to look up meanings, they are more likely to associate with a famous Claudia (like the Strictly one, for eg)

Imogen and Gabriella both lovely.

Not keen on Claudia at all.

Like them all. Imogen is probably my fave followed by Gabriella, but I don't think you can go wrong with that shortlist!

The meaning definitely wouldn't put me off one bit. Lots of names have less than pretty meanings, they're still widely used.

They're all lovely names, Imogen is probably just my favourite.

We have similar tastes. I have a Claudia, but also on my list was Gabriella, Lydia, Charlotte, Georgia and Alexandra. I went with Claudia in the end because I love it and don't care about the meaning. Much as I love Gabriella, part of me could never really like Gabby which I think would be an inevitable nickname. I also don't care much for Ella either, so that wasn't a route I wanted to go down.

I like all three but I'd choose Claudia over the other two.

They are all beautiful names. I'd be a bit put off Gabriella because of Gabby which I don't love.

Claudia is really lovely.

Would never choose Claudia because people have mentioned the meaning so much it's all I can think of.

Gabriella is lovely, dislike Imogen.

Claudia is the nicest. Its also the only one I dont know any of I know a few of the others.

Benchmark - that's silly. Only on Mumsnet do people mention it. In the real world it's a non-issue.

I know how the random stuff you read online can get into your head though. Anyway, the name Claudia long predates the emperor with the bad leg.

My favourite would be Claudia.

The meaning wouldn't matter a bit.

I have a Gabriela (Spanish spelling, not a typo )

I like Claudia, but am never sure if it is Claw-dia or Cloud-ia

Imogen isn't a favourite with me.
