Or Morris. Opinions please.

Would also be an alliteration. Not liking any boys names ATM. Any suggestions welcome.

Not keen OP. sorry.

An old mans name which is better if it stays that way.

TickerSpecs · 24/02/2014 16:01

Sorry, awful.

What is your taste? Modern, old man, different but not wacky, do you mind popular names?

hootloop · 24/02/2014 16:07

Its not as bad as Nigel but its not far of.

PunkAssMoFo · 24/02/2014 16:10

Not too popular, not too out there. More towards old man than modern I suppose.

Only other thought ATM is Anton.

Don't really know myself. Back to the drawing board Hmm thanks anyway.

He was always my favourite Bee Gee so I would say yes. (With Mo as a nickname)

Sammie101 · 24/02/2014 16:15

I quite like Morris but not very keen on Maurice--for some reason I'm sure it's the name of a Disney character (old man character) but can't quite put my finger on it! I think it's from Beauty and the Beast?

PunkAssMoFo · 24/02/2014 16:15

That's what I was thinking trainers, about Mo, not bee gees!

I prefer Anton, I taught a lovely Anton.

Bowlersarm · 24/02/2014 16:17

I like Anton.

TickerSpecs · 24/02/2014 17:43

Anton is good.

What about Jago? It's Cornish for James I think so you have tradtional but with a more modern feel.

Sillybillybob · 24/02/2014 17:46

Some people call me Maurice... Some people call me the Space Cowboy...

My first boss had Maurice as a middle name. Slightly ashamed to say I sniggered when I found out.

Sundaedelight · 25/02/2014 10:45

It's not old man at all! Depends who you know. I know of a little Maurice and it works really well.

squoosh · 25/02/2014 11:00

I really don't like Maurice at all, but do like Moss which is a common shortening in Ireland.

Mireio · 25/02/2014 16:45

I really like Morris! I don't know why it's not more popular, considering names like Harris, Miles and Stanley are being used more often. It's old-mannish but it's also quite cute. Maurice is nice too, but it might get pronounced 'maur-EES' by some people, so I prefer Morris.

bakingtins · 25/02/2014 17:15

Maurice is very old man. I like Anton, and only ever met one.

DrewsWife · 25/02/2014 17:18

Maurice was the name of a terry pratchett character. And I like it. Lots of old names coming back Grin

I used to laugh at Hamish when I was a kid. I know a few now and love it.

If you like it go for it OP Wink

PunkAssMoFo · 25/02/2014 17:21

Mixed reviews. I'll keep it on the list, but Anton just got bumped to the top. Thanks guys.

I like Maurice. Shouldn't work but does!

I know a Norrie and I've always thought that was a good name too. It would be a NN for Norbert I think.

barnet · 25/02/2014 17:25

Maurice is great. (People thought Jack was an old man's name 15 yrs ago)
Anton is good, but more common.

iklboo · 25/02/2014 17:30

I had a horrible, horrible boss called Maurice. He used to go out of his way to try & make female employees cry (1980s). It's sort of put me off the name. But don't listen to me! If you love it that's all that matters.

winterhat · 25/02/2014 17:30

Maurice is great.

Anton is "Du Beke"... not keen.

NinjaCow · 25/02/2014 18:02

Don't like it at all.

thegreatgatsby101 · 26/02/2014 09:33

Not keen, but what about Monty - quite similar but slightly more chic?!

I like strong and old fashioned names though and there are loads out there to choose from! :)

PatriciaHolm · 26/02/2014 09:40

Maurice is technically pronounced moh-REECE, not Morris, so they are different. Not a fan of either tbh, though I do like Anton. How about Matisse?

HyvaPaiva · 26/02/2014 09:42

As it's pronounce Mo-REESE, it's too 'space cowboy' for me. And Morris is old-fashioned in an unattractive way. I like Maury, that's similar.
