..What other names might I like?

I'm looking for a name which has absolutely no personal or cultural significance for me or my family, which clearly denotes to other parents that I'm terribly well-educated and artistic while simultaneously suggesting that I don't care in the least what other people think.

Ladies, can you help?

I had hoped for twins so I could call them Irrumator and Raphanidon.

I quite like cannula for a girl.

NigellasDealer · 21/02/2014 21:50

what about 'Sarcoptes scabiei'?
for a boy obviously!

Anjou · 21/02/2014 23:05

Yawn. Perhaps you should call your kid MyMumJudgesPeopleWhoCallTheirKidsNamesThatSheDoesntLikeAndSheWillRaiseMeToBeAsJudgementalAsSheIs? Why do you care what name someone chooses? How do you know it has no 'cultural significance'? And as for 'personal significance' - they chose it for their kid, so I'm guessing it signifies something to them.

Definitely Messalina Agrippinilla or Pontifex Maximus. Just right :)

Catheta Inserta for a girl. Pretty name.

I always thought Tartiflette was a solid, unisex name.

Thank you so much, ladies. Just loving Calpolicella, and it has so many nicknames possibilities too. I'm not sure I've found the perfect boys name yet, however. Something along the lines of Xenophon would be great, but obviously more unique.

I certainly wouldn't think you were 'terribly well educated and artistic' by using Ashanti as one of your children's middle names, it's incredibly ghetto chic.

However Placebo Aurelius is wonderful.

Has nobody suggested lobotomy?

Or even phlebotomy?

There are one or two around but not reached the top ten as yet

Minion · 22/02/2014 11:51

I think you should just go for a one word name, preceded by THE.
Like,
The Profiterole
Or,
The Lamp.

Fibonacci Meteor.

Bartholin Luxor for a boy.
Pandemonia Tuskegee for a girl.

Kveta · 23/02/2014 10:06

Some marvellous suggestions here! Personally though, I'd go for something long enough for several nickname opportunities.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis springs to mind.

Dovahkiin · 23/02/2014 10:39

Nickname of Vulcan, surely? Awesome!
