..What other names might I like?

I'm looking for a name which has absolutely no personal or cultural significance for me or my family, which clearly denotes to other parents that I'm terribly well-educated and artistic while simultaneously suggesting that I don't care in the least what other people think.

Ladies, can you help?

Katsu Karrie

Some great suggestions - thanks! At the moment I think we'll probably go with Yoni Perpetua Madrigal it's a girl.

I'm thinking Germolene Pipistrelle for a girl.

Dirtybanana · 21/02/2014 04:20

How about

Extramuralia Horatia Puellana for a girl

and

Macaronic Plutonio Faecius for a boy?

I think Labia Burqa sounds lovely for a girl Grin Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/02/2014 07:41

Is it wrong that I quite like Perpetua Madrigal? without the Yoni
I think as a heavily pg woman with a name list of ZERO, maybe I need to step away! Hmm Confused Grin

Vortigern, Quasimodo, Tintabula and Medusa hardly raised an eyebrow when I suggested them a while back - not 'out there' enough, obviously. Must try harder

NoArmaniNoPunani · 21/02/2014 10:15

I actually know a kid called Ashanti.

Dovahkiin · 21/02/2014 10:20

SaggyOld - how pregnant are you? I give you Zero Maximilien as a freebie.
Vortigern I'm liking - maybe Caractacus has more nickname potential though?
Loving Germolene Pipistrelle! May have to buy a cat just to be able to use it.

When at secondary school and never imagining we'd be parents we'd joke about using Marlowe names for children eg, Usumcasane (?sp it's been a while) or Xenocrates!

LineRunner · 21/02/2014 10:30

Jericho Kildare for a boy.

Panza Demanza for a girl.

ohmymimi · 21/02/2014 10:38

Caractacus, nn Cactus. Works for me.
Am quite liking Pterri Dachteil and Brontye Sawrass for twins or Knea Ander Thahl for a Nordic Noir fan.

Dovahkiin · 21/02/2014 10:40

DH just suggested Arturo Filanderer. I think it sounds strong and manly. What do you think?

OP posts:
Dovahkiin · 21/02/2014 10:41

I think Sawrass is best avoided, even as a middle name :)

Someone at playgroup misheard and genuinely thought DD was called Areola Shock Confused

Don't know how she said it with a straight face, she must have thought I was crazy! DD's name is perfectly normal, honestly!

How about Endocrine Superfluous (think it works best for a boy - nn Doc)?

plainjanine · 21/02/2014 10:46

How about Myra Pudenda?

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 21/02/2014 10:47

Elephant's Breath Febreeze has a certain je ne sais quoi. Not very Greek though.

EasterHoliday · 21/02/2014 10:48

I just adore Iphegenia Pashmina. Cultured, with a hint of party girl.

ohmymimi · 21/02/2014 10:51

Sawrace?
Opera fan? Idomeneo Papageno and Semiramide Fiordiligi.

Dovahkiin · 21/02/2014 11:25

Felicia Dachshund?

Sprinty Dardanelles is gaining in popularity in Chertsey, I believe.

TheOneAndOnlyAlpha · 21/02/2014 11:31

Le Creuset for a girl

Pyrex for a boy

LilacBreastedRoller · 21/02/2014 11:50

Bilirubin Ronseal for a boy. (Billy-Reuben is WAY overused.)

LilacBreastedRoller · 21/02/2014 11:51

And I think Calpollicella is a nice hybrid for a girl, totally unique.
