No! just no Hmm

HyvaPaiva · 07/02/2014 14:26

I love the name Astrid and Clementine is ok.

Yet, somehow, the two together made my mind immediately think 'household product'. The combination sounds like something to clean the bathroom.

Sorry OP! Grin I do like the two separately.

Astrid - Yes

Clementine - Yes

Astrid Clementine - No

BlueStarsAtNight · 07/02/2014 14:26

Ooh I love it! Would only use it with a fairly short surname though as it'd be a bit of a mouthful otherwise

HorrorCow · 07/02/2014 14:27

Sounds a bit like a cleaning fluid. Nice names separately, but a bit much together.

HorrorCow · 07/02/2014 14:28

X post Hyva Smile

BlueStarsAtNight · 07/02/2014 14:28

Hmm actually I was thinking about it more and the name that sounds strongest in my mind is the Clementine.....so maybe I wouldn't have that combination as it detracts from the Astrid , which is lovely

DitsyDonkey · 07/02/2014 14:28

Well the middle name is negotiable......trust me I have many MANY other options [obsessed emoticon]

ellawithaspecialnose · 07/02/2014 14:31

Agree with the above - both beautiful names, I nearly used Astrid myself - but just too much together!

DitsyDonkey · 07/02/2014 14:32

Astrid Xanthe
Astrid Seraphina
Astrid Penelope
Astrid Juniper
Astrid Tessa
Astrid Rose
Astrid Violet
Astrid Florence
Astrid Fleur

I will stop now Blush

Two of my favourite girls' names so it's a big YES from me!

IsabellaRockerfeller · 07/02/2014 14:33

Astrid is a fantastic name.

Clementine with Astrid is just too much.

Christelle2207 · 07/02/2014 14:35

Agree- like both but dont think they fit very well. I would use a classic 1/2 syllable name after astrid eg Clare, Mary

Hmmm yes, I can see what the other posters mean actually. Astrid is lovely, in my opinion, and Clementine is pleasant enough, but for me, they just don't quite work together.

waterlego6064 · 07/02/2014 14:39

From your later post, I would avoid the long and/or more 'flowery' ones and go for one of the simpler ones...Rose or Tessa for example. PPs suggestions of Clare or Mary also very nice with Astrid.

BlueStarsAtNight · 07/02/2014 16:42

I actually really like Astrid Florence :)

HuiledOlive · 07/02/2014 16:44

I love it!

KatherinaMinola · 07/02/2014 16:46

Both names are lovely. Together... I think it's a bit bonkers, but could work on the right child!

KatherinaMinola · 07/02/2014 16:49

From your second list... You're mixing genres/derivations. You need a vaguely Germanic/Scandi name (or -sounding name) to go with Astrid, I think, rather than Greek/French etc.

KatherinaMinola · 07/02/2014 16:49

Something like Astrid Hanne.

Lottystar · 07/02/2014 17:40

Marie-Astrid sounds pretty, with a more French sounding "Marie" if you catch my drift. Astrid is a super pretty name Smile

DitsyDonkey · 07/02/2014 20:04

I think I'm starting to warm to Astrid Florence or Astrid Violet!

Dh likes it!

Ds is just after saying that sounds like asteroid god that's the worse name you ever came up with Hmm

Astrid is nice, but Clementine just makes me think of oranges.
