Alternative to Willow?

Mrspedro · 30/01/2014 18:33

I really want to name our daughter this but Dh is having none of it ( tho he gets quite faint during the births & agrees to anything on his recovery so if all else fails I'll take advantage of that! ;) )
Can anyone who's a lover of Willow offer any alternatives?

Salix (pronounced say-licks) its the proper botanical word for Willow.
Or how about Wren, Robyn, Arianna, Summer?

My willow is ten and before the majority of celeb ones.. We have been complimented on it so many times .. Although I have had my fair amount of '' I have a cat / horse/dog / tortoise called willow !! Doesn't bother me though I still love it !

Dillydollydaydream · 31/01/2014 08:07

I was going to use Willow for my dd. I decided on it as a middle name instead. Good job, she's anything but willowy.

It's a lovely babe, shame your dh isn't keen.

How about

Sarah Palin has a Willow! Eeeeeeeek.

I've always thought it's a lovely hippyish, peaceful name. Not words I associate with that woman.

DD2 was going go be Willow, but when she was born she didn't look like a Willow! We named her Zanna (pronounced like Hannah, its the European version of my name). Willow is now her middle name. Work on the OH though, its a lovely name.

Mrspedro · 02/02/2014 10:31
