I really like the name Joan. I think it's pretty and it's very underused ime.

Anyone else like this lovely name or am I on my own with Joan ;) ?

I love it. With Joanie as a nn.

I'm a big Mad Men fan though Smile .

ApplySomePressure · 16/01/2014 18:34

My baby is called Joan! Join us!

ToffeeJungle · 16/01/2014 18:54

I used to hate it, thought it was really dull and old fashioned - but now I quite like it!
Think it must be the Mad Men effect!!!

dustyhousewithdustypeople · 16/01/2014 18:56

I love it! And Jean.

mewkins · 16/01/2014 20:17

I like Joan and Jean

CuntWagon · 16/01/2014 20:19

My mum is called Joan. She absolutely hates it

Worriedthistimearound · 16/01/2014 20:20

I love it, nn joanie. Also love jean with nn jeanie or jeanne.

Go for it!

joanofarchitrave · 16/01/2014 20:21

It's great Smile

I'm afraid I've never liked Jean - Joan IMO is slightly 'older' and therefore on its way back in.

wigglesrock · 16/01/2014 21:07

My granny is called it - she actively dislikes it & forbade Smile (she's like that) her children from using it as a name/ middle name for their own children.

I love Joan!

And I've known lovely people named Joanie. The name makes me happy. It's classic but not utterly obscure.

KatherinaMinola · 16/01/2014 21:14

I know a baby Doris!

I like the name Joan. Couldn't use it though, as I knew one that was a bit of a caaah.

HoneyandRum · 16/01/2014 22:47

Isn't Catherine Tate's Nan called Joanie? I remember her sister came to visit and was called Junie!

Still like Joan though.

Worraliberty!

HoneyandRum · 16/01/2014 22:49

Oh the other well known Joanie is from "Happy Days", Joanie Cunningham.

OpalQuartz · 17/01/2014 00:10

Love it and Joanie is cool. Another Mad Men fan here Grin

OpalQuartz · 17/01/2014 00:10

Mad Men has made me like Betty too!
