Out of those two, Penelope. If it was Penelope v Perdita, then Perdita would sneak ahead for me.

Well Perdy isn't a real name, so....

Penelope by far for me.

Penelope was the wife of Odysseus who kept her suitors at bay and waited faithfully for her (hero) husband to return.

Purdey (to me) means The Avengers and haircut slang for a blonde bob.

Perdita is a dalmation.

Perdita is from a winters tale.i like it. Also like penelope but prefer perdita. Do not like perdy.

Perdita is the Italian word for 'loss'. Not even an old hidden meaning, or a never used word in Latin - just the bog standard word for loss in everyday Italian. I just couldn't call my baby that!

Why does it matter if it was a name in 101 Dalmatians. So many nice names are also doggie names it shouldn't make a difference. My mum wanted to call me Petra but was told no as it was the name of the Blue Peter dog. Fwiw I and none of my classmates saw that particular dog so it was a non starter of an argument and I would have been enchanted to have a cute puppy sharing the same name as me!

I like Penelope! Not sure about Perdy.
