Her first name is Ada and her surname will be Adcock / Adcock-Cooper / Cooper-Adcock (still in negotiation...) any suggestions?

You don't think her name is going to sound like had a hard cock do you?

HomeHypno · 07/01/2014 09:32

I would go for a long middle name, like Savannah, Susanna or Madeleine

CarryOnDancing · 07/01/2014 09:47

Ada isn't a bad name in the slightest, it's just a matter of different tastes. I don't think it goes well with the surname Adcock though. I usually like alliteration but two lots of "ad" is too much, especially when that's almost all of the first name.

I guess the issue would be lessened by using Cooper-Adcock?

For middle names how about: Nancy, Honey, Fleur, Felicity, Poppy?

imperial only if her middle name is "hard". My partners surname is what it is and I don't find that comment particulary helpful Hmm

Not keen on Ada, sorry. But I agree that it would need a longer, classic middle name to go with it.

OKmum · 07/01/2014 12:06

How about Ada Louise?

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 07/01/2014 12:10

Anything that isn't flower related. Ada is gorgeous but for some reason my mind instantly goes 'oh look at sweet little Ada Rose/Lily/Iris.

No. I love flower names and I love Ada. But NOT together. Grin

NigellasDealer · 07/01/2014 12:11

Lovelace

CuntyBunty · 07/01/2014 12:22

Ada is not a good name, sorry. Also if you have a different surname to "Adcock", it would be much better if you gave her yours. Break down the naming sexism Op, give the baby the mother's surname.

nothing wrong with Ada Lovelace !!
however I have to agree that the surname Adcock is unfortunate under any circumstances.
Sorry OP no offence but i would not inflict that surname on any child.

CaptainCunt · 07/01/2014 12:32

How about something beginning with H?
No, go with cooper.

FurryDogMother · 07/01/2014 12:34

My grandmother was Ada Florence :)

duckandcover · 07/01/2014 12:37

Another vote for Ada Mary - what a beautiful choice, OP.

CaptainCunt · 07/01/2014 12:38

Was just going to suggest this! Ada Florence is lovely. Adcock as a second middle name that she doesn't have to tell anyone about?

Rosieliveson · 07/01/2014 12:44

How about Ada Mae?
I think it sounds nice with both surname options.

IAmTheOneWhoKnocks · 07/01/2014 13:09

No idea why some people have decided to be so rude about your partners surname OP! If you're happy for her to have his surname then go for it, there's nothing wrong with it.

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 07/01/2014 13:17

OP if it helps, I'm mega judgy about baby nams, but I think anyone who in real ife actually cares what someone's name is, is a twat. Your name is X? Well we clearly can't be friends/date/work together = twat.

I reserve exception for the lad at a local shop who has swastika and storm trooper tattoos and is called Adolf....

Grin ok

Rosencrantz · 07/01/2014 20:54

Noones being judgey about the surname, they are telling her to avoid the name Ada with Adcock.

Jenny Adcock, doesn't sound like anything.

Whereas Ada Adcock does sound like Had A... cock! Avoid this!

elspethmcgillicuddy · 07/01/2014 20:56

Oh I read that as Asda. Ada is nicer than Asda but only just . Sorry OP

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 07/01/2014 21:02

Emily. With Cooper first part of surname.
I don't think Ada works with Adcock as first surname either, it's a pretty name but have you any others on short list if Adcock is going to be her surname?
