How many Dexters do you know?

Really struggling to find a name for DC2. We already have one DS and his name was in the 300's based on last years baby name stats. Dexter is the one name we both like, it was number 70 last year with 955 babies called it. I just wondered how many Dexters you actually knew?

None!

I don't know any Dexters - adults or kids

Two - one's a 28yo, the other about 1yo.

DH wanted to name DS2 Dexter. It was the name of a very good friend of his. I liked the name until I found out a bit more about the friend, put me off completely.

One - the very well known serial killer in 8 series which has just finished

And my cat- I didn't name it

No humans but several of the canine variety. It wouldn't bother me at all but if it would bother you then bare in nind it is popular for dogs.

I know one Dexter age 4 and have come across another (ie don't really know him). I wouldn't say it's that common.

One Dexter aged two.

And Dexter Fletcher of Press Gang/dodgy accent fame.

I know one.... My nephew. Lots of people comment on what a cool name it is and how much they like it!

A friend at uni's surname was Dexter. Don't know anyone who has it as a first name.

One aged 5 and I have heard the name once or twice at toddler soft play. Sweet name.

One 4 yr old and the other one is a fox terrier.

I haven't really known any but I've heard it around a few times.

None at all, I'd see it as more of an American name really.

One, aged about 10. My DCs are 9 and 7 though, so I don't know many babies and toddlers any more. I don't think there's much risk of there being more than one in a school class if that's what you are worried about.
