I'm not going to post the name yet as i just want opinions on the situation rather than the name first lol.

But it definatly different but without being "urgh" lol but they are basing thier opinions on people they know with similar sounding names.

but my point is lol, should i let it bother me what other people think? at the end of the days its our choice and our decision??

(i will post the name in due course lol)

since telling my partner that some of my family dont like it he has since said it makes him like it even more lol (he gets on fine with my family, just doesnt like to be 'influenced)

Vonnie, you'll need to start a new thread, where I'm sure you will get plenty of opinions! Click on 'start a new thread' at the top of the page and repost.

Op I have to say if you already have a DD called Isla I would NOT use any name that has the "el" sound in it it makes it REALLY hard when you call them both

(says the woman with an Eloisa and an Aoife - not alike at all but both have the " Eeee Ahh sound )

BTW Yes I know how to say Isla (I know it doesn't sound like I do from the "el" comment its just try shouting the names out one after the other or saying them quickly together)

I think it's pretty, and "made up" names are not usually to my taste. But I named my kids Samuel and Margaret and those were definitely not to some people's taste either! :)

Staci I love Rupert and Gordon!
