What do people think of this?

And what middle name would up put with it (something short and classic)?

We we're thinking:

Miriam Ann
Miriam Grace
Miriam Emily
Miriam Rachel
Miriam Sarah

Thanks!

I really like it. Mim is a cute nickname too. It's on my list but it is a colleagues name which might be a bit weird...

HenriettaTurkey · 08/12/2013 10:32

We were talking about Mim as a nickname too!

Just read my original post 'would up put' clearly should read 'would you put'.

Sorry Grin

Lovely name, and Mim is a fab NN.

I know a Mirren and. Murren but no-one called Miriam :-)

RutaSkadi · 08/12/2013 15:07

Miriam's lovely, she could be a Mimi.

HenriettaTurkey · 08/12/2013 15:58

Thank you all for your really positive comments! What do you think about the middle names?

Miriam is great. IMO single syllable middle names would work best and prefer Ann to Grace from your list

trufflesnuffler · 08/12/2013 23:46

Miriam is my great grandmothers name, she was Persian Jewish. Beautiful name.

BettyBi0 · 09/12/2013 00:40

Love the name Miriam. I know one who is about 5 and is just adorable and smart and funny. Middle name wise I think it depends on the surname. If it's a one syllable surname then I'd go for a 2 syllable middle name as the rhythm flows better. If 2 syllable surname then I'd recommend a 1 syllable middle.

InTheFace · 09/12/2013 00:47

I LOVE Miriam. Wanted to use it for DD but DH doesn't like it :-(

Go for it, the world needs more Miriams!

ZingSweetPea · 09/12/2013 03:48

we have a niece who is Miriam.

it's a lovely name and because of her role in Moses' life as a baby I associate the name with someone loving, caring and smart

cashmiriana · 09/12/2013 14:21

We have a Miriam in the family. It's a beautiful name (and she's a beautiful, funny kid.)
In fact I was gutted when her mum used it. I wanted it for my DD2!

glorious · 09/12/2013 16:09

I love it. Didn't occur for my DD but a friend has one. I agree short and classic for the middle name and I like Ann best of your options but I don't dislike any of them. Although said together you do kind of get Miri-uh-man but I don't think that matters Smile

glorious · 09/12/2013 16:10

Friend's is Miriam Helen btw.

SS3J · 09/12/2013 18:02

I really like it. I would go with Miriam Grace from your list.

TallulahBetty · 09/12/2013 18:09

In my top 5 most disliked names. Sorry, you did ask Sad

TallulahBetty · 09/12/2013 18:12

Posted too soon. I would suggest Marianne?

HenriettaTurkey · 09/12/2013 19:39

Thank you all for your responses - positive or negative it's great to have feedback.

Glorious, that's my favourite too, but I was wondering about the 'man' sound.

Our surname is 2 syllables.

HenriettaTurkey · 09/12/2013 19:40

Oh, and Tallulah, I think Marianne is lovely too, but sadly DH isn't keen.

I think you're right about Miriam Emily.

Hadn't considered Mirabelle. Isn't it a plum?

OP posts:
lottiegarbanzo · 09/12/2013 20:44

I secretly like Mirabelle too! Mirabel is an airport in Montreal though.

As for your middle name, I think something starting with a consonant is best, so they don't run into each other. Agree which one depends how long your surname is.

Of your ideas, I think Grace sounds the best. Rachel and Sarah make very biblical names.

SecretSantaFix · 09/12/2013 20:45

Miriam Amelia is a pretty combination of you like Emily

CruCru · 09/12/2013 20:53

I love Miriam (started a thread on it earlier this year). Unfortunately DH hated it.

For middle names, maybe Ruth, Eve or Enid?
