There is an unfortunate child named Rae/Ray around my way. The poor thing is female too. It just makes me think, "Raymond" whatever the gender.

Renee? We have a family friend with this name and we've always called her Aunty Rae

EirikurNoromaour · 27/11/2013 21:07

Why, though? It's not a great name, especially spelt Rae. Or Ray actually.

HandragsNGladbags · 27/11/2013 21:08

Raine

WeAreEternal · 27/11/2013 21:09

Reneé (pronounced ren-ay) is my first thought.

I know two women called Ray, in both cases it is short for Raywyn.

CuntyBunty · 27/11/2013 21:20

What Eirkur said. Rae/Ray is not a great name.

marriednotdead · 27/11/2013 21:28

BerryBerryXmas · 27/11/2013 21:44

caz05 · 28/11/2013 15:44

I know one girl just call Rea. Its lovely and I have never thought about it being used as a nn for her it's just her name

caz05 · 28/11/2013 15:44

Opps meant to be Rae

TheSporkforeatingkyriarchy · 28/11/2013 15:50

Rachelle is the first that comes to mine.

Similar sounding Rei as nn for Reina would be my first choice though.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 28/11/2013 16:06

My niece is called Raya - or, for something different, Soraya?
